Goodnight Lily
Summary: In an alternative universe to the everyone getting a room based on their personality episode, Lincoln tries to get a playful Lily to bed.
Disclaimer: I don't own the Loud house.
Author note: Something cute and fluffy! And yes I can't remember episodes or their plots well. Bad fan! But in my head they have to be good or famous so I can remember them.
Lincoln forgot how toddlers worked when Lisa came along since the little four year old had been doing formulas and reading high school books at the time.
With Lily however he was relearning it as the days went through day by day in the Loud household. Especially when it came to the evening and them sharing a room for the last six months.
Slowly the eleven year old wasn't minding the drool and having to talk to Clyde in a whisper so Lily could take her nap. It wasn't perfect but definitely better than his old room that was now a closet again.
But with it being her bedtime and her in pajamas which admittedly was less of a struggle now, Lincoln thought he had it easy since Lily couldn't threat him with violence like Lori or explained science know how like Lisa.
Unfortunately for him he was wrong immediately as he took away one of her blocks for a way of getting her in her crib in a timely matter.
"Mine blocky!" Lily yelled, trying to grab from her big brother.
"Sorry Lily but it's time for you to go to bed," Lincoln explained to her as she give him a glare. "I take it as a no?"
"Mine blocky!" Lily repeated, holding up her little hands while moving her feet in irradiation.
To her Lincoln didn't understand how she did her bedtime. And how could he not? He lived with her room wide for six months.
He should've been used to how she acted by then. Even if Lisa was teaching her potty training a few months in advance then her peers.
But he wasn't, dropping the block by the toddler's feet as she looked up at him.
"Lincoln!" Lily giggled, ready for a round of peek a boo before she frowned. "Lincoln no play?"
"No. Lincoln tired. Lincoln has school tomorrow," Lincoln explained to the toddler who was still frowning. "And you have day care."
Day care? How could she forget that? She had many friends in that place. If only she could just remember their names like her siblings could.
Unfortunately she was still a toddler so she couldn't remember much that went on. Unless she counted her family but maybe that was the only thing she remembered fully.
Seeing her brother hold up a bottle of milk left Lily confused before Lincoln knelt down close to her.
"Mom often used a bottle of warm milk to help me when I was like you Lily. Very, very playful," Lincoln explained with a chuckle as he saw her reach for it eagerly. "Oh? You want it?"
"Bottle!" Lily cried with a giggle, forgetting both her blocks and the round of peek a boo that she had wanted to play with.
Seeing the want in her eyes, Lincoln took her in his arms as Lily looked at him.
Maybe she thought of him as a protector, a fun and crazy guy to hang out with when she was old enough.
The older of the two hoped so as little sleepy eyes greeted him and an empty bottle of milk had followed suit.
"Goodnight Lily," Lincoln muttered, kissing her cheek before putting her in her crib.
"Lincoln," Lily muttered as Lincoln sighed softly for he guessed that like him before her, she would sleep soundly from the warmth of bottled milk.
That or she was turning into him slowly day by day. Lincoln wasn't certain but perhaps one day it could happen.
