It's prom night one of the greatest days of your life. That is unless you're Kelsie Nelson a girl who just got dumped at the prom, in front of everyone. Now she's hiding in the parking lot trying to avoided the sad looks every one keep giving her.
So here she sits on a blue mustang listening to the muffled music coming form the gym. All she wanted to do was go home but she couldn't because it would disappoint her mother, who no doubt has been waiting by the door wanting to listen to her daughters amazing night. Her mom's been talked about her prom for as long as she can remember. 'One of the best nights of my life' she would say. Kelsie just didn't know what to do. She was so lost in thought that she didn't hear someone walking her way.
"Kelsie?" A startled Kelsie looked up to find Ryan standing right in front of her in a white tux. Looking as handsome as prince charming. "What are you doing out here?"
"My date dumped me. What are you doing out here?"
"The prom wasn't as fun as I thought it would be." He said as he walked over to the car and sat down next to her. They sat on the car in uncomfortable silence. Until finally Kelsie spoke up. "You mean Prom didn't turn out to be the dream you expected it to be?"
"Well I never really dreamed about prom but no I guess it didn't. I was actually going to go home."
"Why didn't you leave?"
"Because you're sitting on my car."
"Oh, I'm sorry I'll get up." She tried to stand but Ryan stopped her.
"No don't. I'd rather talk to you."
At this comment Kelsie blushed. "So why wasn't prom as fun as you that it would be?"
"Well, I really wanted to dance with a certain person but they weren't inside."
"Who did you want to dance with?"
"You."
"What really?" Kelsie's face became a darker shade of red.
"Yeah, I've actually liked you for awhile now. You know proms not over yet." Ryan stood and presented his hand. "So Miss Nelson would you like to dance?"
"I would love to." Kelsie took his hand and they started dancing in the parking lot to the slow muffled music from the gym. After the song ended they keep slow dancing the rest of the night. The only reason they stopped was because people wanted to leave and they were standing in the middle of the road.
Ryan walked Kelsie to her door and gave her a kiss on the cheek. Kelsie was smiling from ear to ear when she walked though the front door of her house. Her mom ran up to her right way and said. "Well was it one of the best nights of your life?"
"The greatest."
