Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been doing anything lately. I had the idea for this story and lost the file I saved it on. A couple minutes ago I accidently hit a button and all my "lost" files appeared. Weird…
Chiro's POV
It's been getting hotter and hotter every day since last week, but yesterday was ridiculous! The ocean water levels went down to a couple feet, the sun was as big as I've ever seen it, and we were all forced to stay inside and suffocate rather than go outside and be instantly burned alive. Gibson called a meeting a couple minutes ago. He's been acting really strange lately. He had been spending more and more time in his lab and then suddenly he stopped. He hasn't been in there for a week. Instead he's been spending more time with us. Whether it's playing with Otto or Antauri or suggesting movie nights, he won't go in his lab. I walked into the command center and sat in my chair.
"So what's this all about, Gibson?" I asked. Gibson looks at Antauri who gives him a reassuring nod. What's going on? Does Antauri know something too?
"Well, Um….Of course you are all well aware of the rising heat levels-"
"Yea, What's up with that?" asked Nova.
"If it's ol' bone bags messing with us again-" Sparx said.
"No it's not-" Gibson started only to be cut off again.
"Hey...why has he been so quiet lately anyways?" I asked.
"Because he left." Antauri said quietly. We blinked. Skeleton King left? He was relentless in trying to win, so why would he just give up?
"What do you mean?" asked Nova. Antauri continued looking quietly at his tail as it twitched.
"Skeleton King left our galaxy a week ago." He said quietly.
"Why didn't you tell us before?" I asked. Antauri looked at Gibson.
"It wasn't important…But what was important was why he left." Gibson replied.
"So why DID he leave?" asked Otto.
"Because…...Spark 99* is dying." Gibson said slowly. (Spark 99 is their sun)
"What's going to happen?" Asked Otto.
"Spark 99 is expanding, which it suddenly seems so big and hot. Soon it will burst into a supernova which could hurt, not destroy, Shuggazoom. Then….it has two options. It either collapse into a neutron star…"
"Or?" I asked nervously.
"Or…it may collapse into a sphere so dense that light itself can not escape…"
"A black hole."
*In my story "SWITCHED" I called their sun "Park 99". I don't know why, so I renamed it. No, it doesn't have anything to do with Sparx! (BTW just to make this something to look back on, in my television series this sun/star WILL be mentioned!)
Also YES I am aware some of the stuff I said (mostly Gibsons talk about how what the sun turns into will affect Shuggazoom) isn't really right. But I changed the laws of space around a little to keep the story where I want it.
Fact- I am COMPLETELY fascinated with black holes! They are the coolest and most dangerous thing in the universe! And scientific evidence suggests that every large galaxy contains a supermassive black hole at its center. The supermassive black hole at the center of the Milky Way galaxy is called Sagittarius A. It has a mass equal to about 4 million suns and would fit inside a ball with a diameter about the size of the sun. :D
