The One Free Bullet
Daniel quickly looked around and noticed that he was surrounded on all sides by Metropolice.
"CEASE AND DESIST!" they yelled, as Daniel slowly pulled out his 9 mm Glock 17 pistol. BOOM! Down went a Metrocop. "SUSPECT, PREPARE TO RECEIVE CIVIL JUDGEMENT!" they yelled as Daniel dived behind a dumpster.
It was a nightmare brought to life. Even though by force, he had grew up in this city. His friends were dying all around him. People killing people in all out war. It shouldn't be like this… he thought. His thought abruptly ended, though, as he hard the ping! of bullets on the front of his stinky shelter.
He jumped up and started shooting, remembering that behind those masks were unconverted humans. Cowardly humans who would rather hide behind Dr. Breen and his cronies than fight for freedom. The more he thought about it, the more he realized that they deserved to die.
Eventually, he had to reload. Without realizing that he had just exhausted his last clip, he started to search himself for ammo. No good. He looked around him for anything that might save his life. There was a crate full of beer, not a suitable weapon, a soda can, no trash cans nearby, a crowbar, not in a million years, but what's this?
A fallen rebel with a pistol in his holster! Daniel grabbed it, dismissing the idea that he was grave-robbing. He checked the clip, and saw that it had only one bullet left. All at once, his hopes shattered.
But then he realized that there was one use for this gun. Daniel picked it up, and pulled the trigger. Then everything went black.
