There was unspoken tension as the quartet sipped their tea.

"It seems that both of us have announcements to make," Sherlock said, glancing at Mycroft.

"Yes. Shall I go first?" He asked, elegantly setting his teacup down.

John shrugged, not exactly certain of the Holmes Pecking Order. Sherlock just glanced over at John and nodded slightly. Mycroft took this as a sign and began.

"Greg has filed for divorce-"

"Mycroft, I'm supposed to say that," Lestrade interjected. Mycroft shot him a Look. He shut up, silently scoffing. (You don't argue with the British government on a daily basis, but Greg did. He knew when to be quiet. Unlike Sherlock.)

"And?" The impatient younger brother asked.

"We've been engaged to be married."

"...Wait, Sherlock, now we're going to be going to your brother-in-law for cases?" John asked.

"Always helps to have a relative on the force," Sherlock said, completely deadpan. Mycroft gave Sherlock a Look, too, but he either didn't notice or just didn't care. Most likely the latter.

Instead of announcing anything, as Mycroft was prone to do, Sherlock just leaned over and kissed John. Lestrade may have snickered. John didn't know as he was currently occupied.

When Sherlock pushed him down onto the couch and deepened their kiss to something extremely racy, Mycroft coughed elegantly. John attempted to get Sherlock off, flushing to the tips of his ears.

"Sherlock!" he hissed. "Off." Sherlock got up and pulled John up with him so they were both sitting as elegantly as they had been, save for the rumpled clothes, John's flush and Sherlock's mussed curls. They looked at each other, both trying not to laugh.

Mycroft raised an eyebrow. "Don't break up."

"What?" John asked, slightly confused.

"I don't want to have to deal with his cocaine addiction again. The withdrawal symptoms are positively awful..." Mycroft sighed.

Sherlock glared at him. John still looked confused.

"Just don't break up."

He attempted to say something but it came out a flustered noise. Sherlock smirked, then John composed himself. "Are you telling us to get married?"

"Simply, yes. I'm still waiting on the happy announcement."

John sighed. "You'll be waiting a lot longer, Mycroft."

"Sure, John."
