They ignored the cuts on her wrists, the whisky on her breath, they pretend they didn't notice as she shoved the pills down her mouth and took another drag.
She had always been fragile in her own way. She couldn't love. It was the one thing her parents had totally deprived her of. And nobody noticed
And one day she broke. Tears were shed at her funeral. Hearts were ripped in two never to be the same again.
But life went on. She was never mentioned, never spoke about again and they never thought about her until;
Her scared brother desperately wanting to save his family, But he can't. He wants to run.
But he remembers her. But he could save them, they had a chance, he could make up for letting her down if he did this one thing. "Run Lily" he calls and hopes it will be enough
Her lover flings one last curse at his cousin and is reminded of her; the girl who ran away from a family who never wanted her and turned up at one of the most infamous places in Britain- his doorstep. The girl who he tried and failed to fix, that brilliant girl, who was wonderfully complicated. All the thoughts took but a second but by then he is falling backwards smiling and thinking of how he loved her and how she never knew.
Her true confident dies thinking all he wants is for her to forgive him. He understood what he did wasn't right but neither was letting her die like that. If only they'd listened. They'd all still be alive. He was avenging her, and maybe that was enough for his forgiveness.
Her friend is the last to go he doesn't have much to think about: he thinks about his family, his wife, his son, his dead friends. He remembers someone he wished he could forget, remembers the injustice she faced. Remembers her because no-one else will now; He is the last Marauder to fall and with him the memory of her, the girl they fought for, the girl who broke the marauders hearts. The girl who died.
