This takes place when Zack is dying, it's pretty much a drabble, a sad one, but a drabble, with it making no sense as you know nothing about Kira, but lol, idk much about her either.
btw, it's based on a bunch of Zack tribute songs like pain and time of dying by three days grace, don't own them either
Zack lay motionless on the ground, bleeding slowly. Rain fell around him, drenching his clothing and armour. Lying beside him was the frail body of the one he loved. Her tears had stopped long ago, and here she lay, bleeding to death. But he was far closer to it than she.
"You said when we were little, that you'd do anything for me," he choked out taking her hand. Her blood covered amethyst hair clung to her pale face. He wanted to see her laugh, to see her bright blue eyes happy again. He hadn't seen that since this war started."You used to follow me like a lost puppy."
She could hear him, but she couldn't speak. She could only remember their life together. Him helping her up when she fell in the streets. Jumping from rooftop to rooftop when they were 10. Now here they lay, dying beside eachother, motionless in pain from their injuries. "I won't die until I see you smile...One last time," he whispered clenching her hand in his own tightly.
"Zack," she whispered, barely audible, but Zack heard her. He turned to her, but she was far too weak to face him. "You're not going to die."
Zack could only snort bitterly. "My time here is ending, Kira." She said something that sounded like 'nu uh'. Blood covered her chest, hair, stomach, and arms. "Do something for me, Kira,...Live," he whispered.
"I'm the one, who will die, today, Zachary." He moved slightly towards her, and carefully pulled Kira into his arms.
"No you won't"
She whimpered in protest. "No, don't. Save your energy," she protested. The rain seemed deafening around them. Cloud was crawling towards them, covered in his own share of wounds.
Zack turned to him, pressing Cloud's head to his chest. Kira couldn't hear what they said, only Cloud making a small sniff to avoid tears. Kira watched Zack, and she reached out, and took his hand. He quickly turned to her, she smiled, and he mouthed with his last breath 'I love you'.
Kira began to cry again, but it hurt so much. Her ribs must've been broken. Cloud went over to her,and began to pick up her broken body. She cried out, "No!" But Cloud continued to take her away from Zack's body, now lifeless, not a single breath escaping his lips.
She hoped he would sit up and say "Got you!" like he did so long ago.
"No, no, NO! HE CAN'T BE GONE!" she cried shrilly, barely audible, so strained. Cloud held her close to him.
"Don't cry, Kira. Zack wants you to be strong," he whispered soothingly. Zack had wanted Cloud to take Kira back to the city, and make sure she got the right treatment. She didn't want to leave.
"You promised!" she screamed at his body. "You promised you'd stay alive and stay with me Zack! You lied!"
"You broke your promise," she whispered and began to cry into Cloud's chest.
As she cried, there was a whisper in the wind, and Kira could've sworn she heard Zack's laughter, and him saying 'Don't forget me, Kira.'
