A/N: Just a short little Keenan/Donia fic I had written for awhile (and never posted until now) set to the song "Sun" from Thumbelina. Donia's POV before and after becoming the Winter Girl. Read and review? Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I do not own Wicked Lovely or any of the characters.

Sun

Once there was the sun

He was her sun- her life force. The way her skin grew warm when he touched her was like having her own little piece of heaven. She would succumb to his rays of light, and his alone.

Bright and warm and wonderful

His eyes always flickered with promises of an eternal summer- butterflies and blue skies forever floating around in his irises. His coppery hair, like strips of metal formed and fitted into the crown like ring of curls that sat atop his head like a golden halo. Honey colored tear drops ran down his well defined cheeks when he smiled with mirth- smiled because she had accepted his test.

Shining like the love within my heart

From time to time, she had thought that his skin was glowing with the soft iridescence of sunshine and moonbeams: the hazy, seductive brightness causing her heart to well up with joy.

Now there's no more sun

After taking up the staff, her vision of the world had changed. Her constant source of sunlight had left her to be a part of his own solitude once more. He was around often enough, but it was never enough for her. The loss of light had been life shattering, and she wasn't sure if she could handle it.

Winter has killed everything

In becoming the new Winter Girl, she was condemned to a life of iciness and glacial emotions. The clouds had taken over not only her life, but her chance with him. Her chance to be more than friends.

And although it's dark December forever

It seemed as though winter would stretch on forever. He was powerless to prevent it, and she was forbidden to help him bring in the warm weather that supposedly lay ahead on the horizon. Her future- and his -seemed hopeless for one final time since her transformation.

I'll remember sun

His eyes, his hair, his voice, his touch, his laugh, his embrace, his kiss, his love- they would follow her around forever- no matter what end she came to. Whether she faded out like a shade or forever carried winter's chill, she would never be able to forget her few brief moments in the sunlight- her short affair with Keenan.
