Stefan quietly entered Elena's room through the open window. It was a lovely, but late, summer evening and Elena was sure to be asleep. He usually never came to her house this late at night unless she really needed him, but tonight…just felt right.
Stefan stood in the middle of the room for a while, just marveling at her sleeping body. She was lying on her back with a arm propped up behind her head and the other was placed gently on her stomach under a thin sheet. Her long, dark hair flowed down her shoulders and her chest lifted slowly up and down while she breathed.
Stefan smiled. God, she's so beautiful, it amazes me. He thought to himself as he quietly made his way towards her. He sat down on the edge of her bed and slipped his fingers through hers. She knew he loved her more than his own life, but sometimes Stefan wished there were more words to describe his love for her.
Under his breath, he began to sing to her.

Stefan felt Elena stir at the sound of his voice and her grip tightened on his hand.

Stefan knew they couldn't be together forever. Eventually, Elena would grow older, and he would stay frozen at 17 years old for eternity. He would give anything to become human and grow old with her.

Slowly, Elena began to wake up. She met his gaze and gasped, then sighed when she recognized him. "Stefan you scared me," She said sleepily.
Stefan smiled at her. "I'm sorry; I just couldn't stay away from you though,"
Elena returned his smile then slowly lifted her tired body up to kiss him. "You can scare me any time," She giggled quietly, wrapping herself around him.

Stefan rolled over, pulling Elena on top of him as he continued his sweet lullaby. Elena laid her on his chest, closing her eyes and her hair fell down on his arms.

Elena looked up at him with sleepy eyes and showed him a smile before kissing him sweetly. Stefan slowly pulled her away and cupped her face in hands, staring into her gentle eyes.

Stefan wanted to show how much he loved Elena and how much he needed her with him. Forever.

After those words came out of his mouth, tears began to from in Elena's eyes.
"Stefan…" She knew as well that they couldn't be together forever. Stefan didn't want to her to be hurt and showed her a loving smile.

Elena's tears trickled down her face as she held his gaze. Stefan swiped them away gently with his thumb then kissed the top of her head. Elena laid her head back down and found his hand, tangling their fingers together. Sleep began to find her.
