UPDATE- I wasn't happy with the NG thing, so I'm gonna do a little sequel to How Could You… basically a series of oneshots that are loosely tied together. Jacket, Skate, and some others. First one is Angel, which is a songfic, Jacket. Song is Angel, by Jack Johnson.

I've got an angel

She doesn't wear any wings

Lying next to her under the stars is different than anything I've felt before.
Her arm is touching mine, and when I glance over at her, her eyes are closed and her long, wavy blonde hair is spread behind her head on the soft grass. I wonder what she's thinking about, and then I feel her slip her hand into my own.

She wears a heart that could melt my own

She wears a smile that could make me want to sing

"Jack?" Her voice is soft, and she opens her eyes, moving closer and snuggling into me. Now she whispers in my ear, just as softly, but she smells like the sea and flowers. "Do you think we'll ever get off this island?" I am silent for a moment before I reply, "Of course."

She gives me presents

With her prescense alone

"Together?" I know she's afraid of the fact she's not one of the people from the Oceanic flight, but we both know that one of us won't leave without the other. "Always." I assure her, kissing her cheek. "You know I'd never leave without you."

She gives me everything I could wish for

She gives me kisses on the lips just for coming home

She sits up, and I follow. Her eyes, I see now, are melancholy. I should've noticed. "If the time comes that you need to get the others off the island… I need you to do it. Without me." I can't stand the idea, but instead of telling her, I brush a strand of hair off of her face, and say, "We'll cross that bridge when we come to it."

She can make angels

I've seen it with my own eyes

She sighs, as if I'm a disobedient toddler, and says patiently, "That may be sooner than you think, Jack." I know, and I do want her to know that, but I want her to stop worrying for me, so I lean forward and kiss her softly, and her hand comes up to my cheek. We pull away, and I blink at her.

"Then we'd better enjoy this while we don't have to worry." She grins and settles back onto my shoulder. I can hear her heart beating in time with my own.

"Juliet?" She turns to look at me and I know she's listening.

"I love you."

We don't use those words hollowly with eachother- they don't mean hello, goodbye, I missed you, be careful, or anything else- just I Love You. We only say it when we really mean it. She smiles, and I could swear my heart melts right then.

You've gotta be careful when you've got good love

'Cause them angels will just keep on multiplying

You're so busy changing the world

Just one smile can change all of mine

We share the same soul

"I love you too," she says, and as she looks back at the sky, a single shooting star streaks across the island. I almost make a wish, but then I don't really need to.
I would've wished for a guardian angel… but I already have one.

Oh Oh Oh Oh

We share the same soul
