An Unforgettable Glance ~ One Shot.
Kemp's POV.
I was on the field, completely focused, just waiting for my perfect moment to show off. People always viewed me as the pervy kid on the soccer team, but mostly the badass kicker; and I definitely wasn't afraid to show it.
It was as if I knew exactly when to help my team make a goal. By counting backwards from three.
Pass to Cam.
Three.
Then to Chris.
Two.
Finally to Josh.
One.
"Ehmagawd!" The OCD preppy chicks would shout from the stands. Of course Derrick would do his stupid butt shake which girls would find so unbelievably "ah-dorable." But there would be no acknowledgment to me whatsoever.
Some game.
But who I didn't notice in the bleachers was the dirty blonde that constantly had her head in a book, or was writing something down in what looked like a journal. She was the only girl there that literally didn't give a crap about my friend's un-legitimate moves. Why did I care? Maybe because of the fact that she looked so damn interesting in my perspective.
So different from how I usually view chicks.
She had everything; style and intelligence. I was stunned into shock and silence. Why haven't I gotten to know her more? Was it because I didn't want to act like a perv around her? Damn why am I so nervous, time to talk about my problems to Dr. Loni.
I kicked the ball again. Sixteen seconds left in the game. I needed to relax, focus, and not look towards the bleachers. Think of Olivia's fake nose. Blah.
One.
Two.
Three.
GOAL!
The whistle blows, and the game is over. I'm surrounded by my best friends who have their fists pumped in the air, as the opposing team spit and shoot death glares towards us.
I see the Pretty Committee getting ready to leave the stands. Struggling from Cam's grip, I free myself from the sweaty huddle and run towards her.
Her green eyes go from Massie, to straight at me. Those mysterious eyes seemed to glisten as she stared back at me, half curious and confused.
"Have we meet before?" She asked me, holding the book she was reading closer to her.
"Nah.. I mean, well - " I stammered.
"Not till today. Well congratulations on a good game, Kemp Hurley."
No way. She knew my name?
"Thank you," I said, totally not sounding like myself. "I guess you should celebrate with me." I told her jokingly. I was finally starting to loosen up.
"I have to go home." She giggled. "Oh by the way, I'm Kristen, Kristen Gregory." She had her hand out for me to shake, and so I did, not something I'd do at all.
"So.. I'll see you around?" I asked hopefully.
"I'll see you around," She smiled, and with one last glance, she was gone.
I mentally hit myself in the head. I knew for a fact that I didn't deserve her. Kristen was smart, mature, and had style. As for me, I was the complete opposite of every characteristic that she was. I must be a fool thinking that she'd ever consider someone like me. I guess this really does prove opposites can attract.
At least she'd be around, glancing in my direction, and I'd glance back.
Kristen Gregory. The girl that changed me for life.
A/N: (; I love Kremp. I hope you all enjoyed, please don't forget to leave a comment. ~ Much love, Allison.
