Our Memories Never Existed

She desires to return to her earlier confident, jubilant nature, however, He taints her transformation. She sits on the balcony outside of His room, but there is a fog that sets in whenever she tries to gather her thoughts. It's a blur, the past nineteen years, the moments when she was younger, wiped away from her memory. This isn't possible, she attempts to rationalize with herself. How can my memory be gone? She could not have just forgotten her past, could she? However, if the young girl concentrated hard enough, bits and pieces emerged from the void. Deep, amethyst eyes; a bronze hand brushing her hair away from her eyes; blonde fringe being twirled around a finger absently. Of course, after his funeral consisting of her, what remained of the Millennium Council, and the new Pharaoh - she knew it was Him they were burying.

She knows He existed, but the events pertaining to Him are murky, beyond comprehension. After training to become a full sorcerer, she remembers a select few aspects of Him. She knows the story of what happened those years before: how He sacrificed Himself; He the Nameless Pharaoh of Egypt, just to lock the Shadows away. She knows vaguely what He looked like as a child, but the figure is blurred, like staring through the clouded glass. She only manages to remember because of the magic she inherited after training for so long, having been able to tear off bits of the spell He cast upon the entire world, the one that sealed Him away forever.

He made it so that He would be forgotten, she reasons. He planned that He be wiped from the minds of the world forever. However, He was not able to clear away everything. She remembers what happened, but she doesn't remember Him. All the events pertaining to Him are there, but what He does, what He says, is all a blur, a fog that will never rise. It hurts to remember, so she doesn't look back anymore. She can only attempt to understand.

When He sealed Himself into the Puzzle, Mana realizes, He took away His memories, but most importantly, He took the memories of Him as well.
