"Do you think she suspects anything?" King Francis asked his half-brother Sebastian.
"No, she doesn't suspect a thing," Bash said smiling. "Is everything ready?"
"Just about, the flowers should be arriving within the hour. Mary and Greer are in the ballroom decorating right now. They're so excited, Mary especially," Francis chuckled.
"Let's hope they can keep my wife distracted until it's time."
…
"Mary, come. We must go get Kenna ready," Greer said while pulling her Queen away.
"Do you think it's perfect, Greer?"
"Yes, she'll love it. You know she will."
"Let's go get our friend ready," Mary smiled and hooked her arm through Greer's.
…..
"What's all this fuss about?" the Mistress of Horse and Hunt giggled while her friends curled and put daises in her hair.
"Your husband had a surprise for you," Greer said coyly. "A surprise?" "Yes, but you have to be patient."
"I'm not good at that."
"We know, so relax and just let us take care of you." They dressed Kenna in a beautiful green gown that brought out her eyes, and then out a blindfold over them. "
He's very serious about this, isn't he?" Kenna laughed.
"He wanted everything to be perfect," the brunette Queen smiled and pulled her friend along.
…..
Bash stood in the ballroom with his brother at his side. "What is taking then so long?" he asked while nervously brushing his brown hair out of his blue eyes.
"They're women, brother. They always take long to get ready."
"Well, I wish they could hurry it up this one time."
Francis heard giggling. "I think they'll be coming sooner than you think."
….
"Okay, now you can look," Greer said as she took off the blindfold. Kenna opened her eyes and looked around. The ballroom was beautifully decorated, with vases of peonies and roses, lace trimmings on the tables, and an altar with a priest and Bash standing on one side, looking as handsome as ever.
"What's all this?" she asked, teary eyed and smiling.
"A vow renewal. Bash wanted you to have the wedding you both deserve," said Mary, who was grinning wildly. "Francis and I helped him plan it."
"That's what you've been doing these past few months?"
"Yes. It was really hard to keep it from you." "I don't know what to say." "Don't say anything. Let's get you remarried!"
Mary walked down the aisle first, then Greer, and then finally Kenna. She couldn't take her eyes off Bash, and Bash couldn't stop looking at her, either. They barely heard what the priest said until it was time for vows, as they had decided to say their own.
"Kenna, when we first got married, I won't lie, it wasn't the ideal situation. But I soon saw what a beautiful, wonderful, caring, loving, kind, smart, and amazing woman you are. I grew to love you, and I always will. I can't imagine my life without you, and even if we had an unhappy beginning, we will have a happy ending," Bash said as he slid the ring on her finger.
"Bash, I love you. From the moment I saw you, I thought you were the most handsome man in all of France, but these past few months, I've seen you are so much more than that. You are loving, caring, passionate, protective, fierce, and will do anything for those you love. I couldn't have asked for a better husband, even if God himself had given me one," she said while sliding the ring on his finger. They kissed a short but passionate one, and Mary and Greer wiped their eyes.
"I'm so glad our baby will be born into such a loving environment," Kenna whispered to Bash.
"Me too….wait, our baby?"
