Prologue
Fred POV:
It was so cold, that I could hardly breathe. I was scared it is so small. My naked skin against the cold metal didn't ease my fears one bit. I lay in the cryogenics tube with doctors surrounding and circling me. I felt like apiece of meat to a group of buzzard. One of the doctor's stepped forward; it was Dr. Ruth. I liked Dr. Ruth; he seemed to be the only one to realize how petrified I was.
"Don't be afraid, now Fred. This is just until we find a cure for your type of heart disease", he paused " It won't take us long to find a cure."
I shivered but answered in as brave a voice I could muster,
"O…o…ok" It was hard to fight being scared. No one was here to comfort me. Not even my trusted bodyguards are here. Dr. Ruth started speaking to me again and I dragged my sad thoughts back into the room.
"Ok ready, Freddy?" He asked with a tight smile. He was trying to cheer me upstanding there, smiling. It really wasn't working. ' I hate it when people say that'. I thought wearily, but I smile back at the doctor anyway. " I'm going to count down, alright," he said "In.3.."
'Here we go' ".2…"
'Everything will be all right…won't it…?' "…1…"
'Oh God'
Normal POV:
Fred closed his eyes, readying for, what he hoped, would be a relatively short nap. What he got was a ling sleep. During this time that he was frozen, he felt very cold and very much alone.
