He wasn't expecting that, although he should have guessed, after all the steam was a good hint. He just wasn't thinking. Well, he was thinking, alright, and funny thing, it was about her, it's all he can do these days think about her, which with all the things that are going on is not the smartest thing that Daryl has ever done.
She is stunning and Daryl can't remember the last time he was excited by that. He likes women, sometimes he even likes guys, and he likes sex… kind of… He just isn't that interested, it always seems to be too much fuss for something he can get in 5 lonely minutes. But she is different, although no the first one of a not very long list. Because he knows it wouldn't be just 5 minutes with her, there would be more…
She still doesn't know he is there, and Daryl really doesn't know what to do. No, that it would matter, he is frozen in the spot. Her skin is flawless. He can only see her back while she dries up, and he can only guess the rest
What should he do? Leave? Probably the best idea. He can just make his presence known with a subtle noise, she won't hear. He wonders if she can feel his presence, his eyes on her naked body, his desire. After all, she always does know where he is, what he is doing, what he wants to do and what he will do, sometimes before he does. That is what makes them such a good team, they fight as if they were dancing, and Daryl wonders if it would be the same when they dance horizontally
He doesn't want to leave though. He doesn't want to do anything besides stay there, where he is, watching her for an eternity. He could do that and forget everything, the people with the death masks, the Henry and Lydia mess, the pain, the absences the crazy world out there. He wants to stay in the small bathroom with hot water and a naked woman, and that is not something he has wished very often. If he allows it, he could hear Merle cruel laugh. He always mocked him for his lack of game. And what he would say if he knew the first woman who had awakened that kind of feelings within Daryl was black and deaf. Fuck Merle, he was an asshole, a disgusting Nazi… and his brother.
Rick would be happy though. He never mocked him, never laughed at him. He respected him. He was the first person who touched him without cruelty. Funny how Daryl got used to getting loving, caring touches after the world ended. Typical Dixon
A sound startled him.
She is there, with that all-knowing smile he loves so much, a towel no covering enough of herself and a note. When did that happen? Does it matter?. She makes a sign with her head.
It's not the smartest thing. But what the hell. After all, he wanted to get a shower too.
The world can wait.
