It

A Dead Space Fanfiction

It Was. It did not know why It Was, or how It Was, but that did not matter to It. It stared; It waited, for there was nothing else to do. The world spun around continuously, never changing. Then They existed. They began to grow, constantly getting bigger. It began to move towards them. "Wait," It thought. "Be patient," It thought. It did not know why It thought this, but It listened. They continued to grow, until they could no longer stay where They came from. They Spread. They continued to Spread, until that was no longer enough. They Changed the World, pulled it apart, harvested it. "Now," It thought, "Stop Them," It thought. It Created, though It was not sure how. Then It Sent, and waited once more. They stopped growing. They began dying, and dying, until they finally started Converging. Convergence happened, and the World stopped Changing. And It was no longer alone. It was no longer singular, but It had not become They, for It did not Change, It merely waited. With time, They began to grow once more, and once more did It stop them once they began to Change.

The cycle continued unhindered for a vast amount of time, until it at once stopped. Convergence began, but did not finish. It was unsure of this, but Change had stopped, so it waited once more. Until once again Change started, and Convergence began. But this time, when Convergence did not finish, Change continued. The World continued breaking. For the first time, It felt anger, though it was not sure where the feeling came from. It Created again, and again, until finally Change stopped. It felt satisfaction. The World would not be broken, and the cycle could continue forever.

So, I finished Dead Space 3 recently, and I wanted to give the Brother Moon's something of a motive beyond, "Kill everything, make a new Brother Moon." I ended up with something that I believe is similar to some of the Minecraft fandom's interpretation of Creepers, with stopping the world from being altered or destroyed by some outside force, and so I have the Brother Moon's being some sort of defense system for the universe. Also, I apologies if the constant use of "It" became annoying, but since this was set from the Moon's point of view to an extent, it seemed odd to have them refer to themselves by their mankind given name. Anyway, reviews are appreciated, I'm fairly new at writing so any feedback is appreciated.
