Number Five nodded after letting go of Klaus's and Allison's hands. "This is the place."
They stood in front of a small alleyway, with a concrete street beneath their feet and brick walls on either side.
Since Klaus had insisted on it, he, Allison, and Five were all dressed in their old hero costumes for the new mission. Allison had her short purple hair tucked behind her black mask, which went well with her black, long-sleeved shirt and black pants with a red stripe down each side. A light, black, short-sleeved jacket was like a frame for the umbrella symbol in the middle of her chest.
Five, known as The Boy, had stuck with his school uniform, like he always wears. It was basically the normal jacket for a private school without the crest, and he had a checkered sweater on underneath it with a striped tie and white shirt. Although his siblings were thirty and Five himself was actually sixty, he looked exactly like he did when he was ten years old. The jacket he wore also held their adoptive father's old monacle.
Klaus, also known as the Séance, had a pretty dreary outfit to be the comedian there, with a long, black coat that went down to the back of his knees. It also included a black jumpsuit with an upside-down triangle in the center of his chest that gave the illusion that the middle was cut out. He was actually one of the few Umbrella Academy members who looked like an actual superhero, based off of what looked like white underwear he wore outside of the jumpsuit. The majority of his hair was flopped onto the left side of his face.
Allison pulled a notepad and marker from her jacket. Ever since their encounter with the White Violin, she had been unable to speak because the damage dealt on her throat had sliced her vocal cords. Sadly, it meant that she couldn't use her ability.
She started writing on the notepad, and when she was finished held it up for the boys to see. It read, You sure?
Klaus shook his head. "Well, I don't know..."
Five glared at him. "Numbers don't lie, Séance."
"They may lie sometimes."
Before anyone saw it coming, the Séance and the Boy were arguing in no time, while Allison, or the Rumor, was patiently waiting for it to end.
Finally, she waved her marker in the small space between them.
"What?" They hollered simultaneously.
With the marker, Allison pointed towards the middle of the alleyway. There, a blue light was glowing, and what looked like pure darkness punctured the exact middle of the light. Multicolored crystals were scattered all around the darkness in it.
Out of nowhere, a girl, about twelve years old or so, jumped out of the darkness and tumbled to the ground. She stood up, brushed dust off of her jeans, and gave all three of them a shocked look. "Who are you?"
Five stood up. "We're here to help. Who are you?"
"Good question. I'm..." She raised a finger, then it dropped to her side. "...doggone it! It was right there, right on the tip of my...what's that called again?"
Allison flipped the page on her notepad and started writing again. When she showed it to the girl, it read, Tongue
"Tongue! Smart girl. Biology. It was right there, but then it just...vanished. I don't know who I am.
"But I do remember someone I know."
"What's their name?" Klaus questioned. He'd crossed his legs and started floating in midair again.
"The Doctor." She replied.
"The doctor?" He inquired.
"Doctor who?"
Before she could answer, the girl's eyes rolled into the back of her head. In seconds, she'd fallen to the ground, unconscious.
