Jackson and Greta are my original characters, but I don't own CSI.
After seeing news reports of show in Vegas, this story popped into my head. Hope you enjoy...And pretty please review!
"Jacks, wake up," Greg whispered to his sleeping son.
Jackson groaned. "Dad...it's Saturday."
"You've got to see this," Greg said.
Jackson sat up slowly. "Daaaad..." Jackson said with eyes half open. "There's no school."
"I know," Greg said with a smile. "But there's something you and your sister need to see."
"Oh," Jackson groaned.
Greg smiled and took Jackson's hand. "Come on," he said as he pulled Jackson out of bed.
Jackson rubbed his eyes as he walked with Greg to the front door. Morgan smiled with an equally sleepy Greta in her arms. "What is it?" Jackson asked in a sleepy voice.
Morgan smiled as Greg opened the door. Jackson blinked open his eyes and looked outside. He couldn't believe what he saw.
"Whoa!" Jackson said as he looked at the snow covering the yard.
"Lookit," Greta said.
"Yeah," Morgan and Greg said.
Jackson's smile lit up his face, and Greg and Morgan loved seeing their children happy. "It actually snowed last night," Morgan said.
"Yeah," Jackson said.
"So..." Greg said as he looked at his smiling children. He loved seeing the wonder in their eyes. "Are you going to stare at it all day? Or..."
"Greta, wanna play?" Jackson asked.
"Yeah!" Greta said as she squirmed out of Morgan's arms.
"Get your coats!" Morgan called as the children rushed to their rooms.
Jackson and Greta got their coats and shoes on in record time and ran out to play in the snow. It may not have been much, but to Jackson and Greta, it was wonderful.
"Baba!" Greta said as she made a little snowball and tossed it into the air.
Jackson and his parents smiled at the happy girl. "Greta, you wanna build a snowman?" Jackson asked.
"Yes!" Greta said.
Greg and Morgan loved seeing their children so happy. It may not have been much snow, but their joy was priceless.
"Me like snow!" Greta said as she tossed a snowball in the air.
Jackson laughed as he and Greta made snowballs and tossed them in the air and at each other. Greg and Morgan's smiles lit their faces as they watched their children play and enjoy the snow.
Even Scruffy got in on the fun. The little dog dug and ran around with the kids, barking happily.
After a full morning of enjoying the snow, the kids came back in the house for some lunch.
"Mama, me play in snow gen?" Greta asked.
"After lunch," Morgan said as she set two steaming bowls of tomato soup on the table.
Greta and Jackson couldn't stop talking about the snow and how much fun they had. It may not have been much snow, but to the children, it was magical.
"Dad, can we build a snowman?" Jackson asked as he took a bite of his grilled cheese sandwich.
"We'll see," Greg said. "There may not be much."
As soon as they finished eating, Jackson and Greta put on their coats and headed outside. They made a small snowman, and Jackson happily helped Greta build it.
"What do you think?" Greg asked the kids. "Not as big as Frosty..."
"But he's okay," Jackson said. "What do you think, Greta?"
Greta giggled. "Me love!"
Morgan and Greg smiled at their happy children. They loved seeing the snow through their eyes.
After a full afternoon, Jackson and Greta settled in to watch a movie with Scruffy on the couch.
"Mama, me love da snow," Greta said as she snuggled close to Morgan.
"Me too," Morgan said. She smiled warmly at her daughter.
Greg smiled as he snuggled with his family on the couch. Jackson still happily talked about building a snowman and playing with his sister.
"Dad, do you think it'll snow here again?" Jackson asked.
"I don't know," Greg said. "But I'm glad it did." Greg smiled at his son.
"So am I," Morgan added.
"Me love snow," Greta said as she pet Scruffy.
Jackson smiled. "Yeah," he said. "I love snow."
The End
