He doesn't know what is happening to him. Every time she enters the room, its drives him closer to madness. Little by little he's losing his heart to her. His emotions are demanding to allow her to stay. All he wants to do is take her in his arms and hold her tight.
He doesn't know if it's his way of trying to forget Hayley. Or he really is starting to develop feelings for her. The nagging feeling lingers deep within him. If he allows her into his life, into his heart; will she just walk away from him? Wanting nothing to do with him after discovering his darkest secrets.
He's had a taste of the peace and comfort she gives him. Elijah doesn't want to get to involved for that fear. Falling in love with her would only make matters worse. It's not right to even try to show her some type of fondness. Stop thinking of the woman who just uses him… he's no better than Hayley if he's using Gia the way he was.
Maybe falling in love with the baby vampire would be ideal compared to living in the shadows. Putting the woman he loves first. Because here he's not being forced to be second… Gia is placing him first. She's lent a hand out to him and gives him what he needs. For right now he won't say anything… he'll allow time to take its course and show him what is right. But one thing's for sure; he could fall in love with Gia.
