Authors' Note: Another drabble that I did for that meme. I never seem to be able to write InoSaku in which everything is happy and awesome. Idk, I think maybe it's just more believable that the two of them are together when there is angst involved? :p

Ino holds Sakura's slowly cooling body in her arms long after the sword has pierced her chest and gone straight through her heart. She can see the blood running down her arms and staining both of their clothing; a dark, almost deep purple that did not look like it should have belonged in someone as consistently bright as Sakura.
She holds on long after the medics arrive and tell her she's suffering from shock. That they have lost the battle. That Sasuke is still not home. And that Sakura had died from blood loss.
She holds on – 'till they're forced to pry her cold hands off of Sakura's body and inject the anesthesia into her arm; crying out while they do.
