She was lying there. Right there on the rocky ground, tears coming out of her eyes. Sweat dripped from her face which pooled on the rocks a long with the tears. Her X-Reader was knocked from her hands. In front of her was a tall, malevolent looking man in a large red cloak. Not human, but alien for he had lavender color skin and orange eyes. Wearing a haughty expression he lets out a throaty chuckle, "Maya, you know they will never accept you for what you are. But I on other hand will."

She whimpered in pain as she stood. Not wanting to seem pathetic she had to stand tall and look him in the eyes. She spoke impertinently, "You're wrong Lokar!" But even she knew his words, beyond his deranged twisted logic, hold true.

"Am I now?" He shook his head slowly in a condescending manner. Picking up the girl's X-Reader he examines it, "The Redakai won't accept you, not even your so called friends will." Lokar spat the last part.

"I know that…" Ashamed she turns her head. How could she not be? When her friends found out they would never look at her the same. Where ever she went it felt like people were always looking down at her. Like they knew what she was, who she was.

"MAYA!" A boy with Black hair and dazzling light blue eyes ran out from behind the trees that surrounded the girl and man. Once he noticed both the man and the tears he quickened his pace, "Get away from her!" When he reached Maya he stood in front of her, as a way of protecting her, "What did you do to her?!" He yelled at the man in the cloak. Who seemed to be wearing a smug composure.

"Why, Ky Stax," he scoffed, "I've not done your precious Maya any harm."

"Maya, what did Lokar do to you?" He spoke of Lokar's name with such disdain in his voice.

"Ky-" the blue haired girl started but was cut off by the very man whom she called grandfather.

"If anything," he smirked, "I've enlightened her as to her proper family is."

"What are you talking about?" Ky spat.

"Ky, I wanted to tell you…" Maya mumbled.

"No… He's not… Maya… How could you not tell me…" stumbling over his own words Ky gaped.

"Your powers of deduction amaze me Ky," Lokar spoke with such derision Ky's ears reddened with anger.

"You may be Maya's biological grandfather but you're not her true family! Family is about people who care and take care of each other, people who accept each other for who they are, no matter what!" Ky stood straight and tall.

"How interesting… "Ky's rant only made Lokar's smile widen, the same smile he killed Ky's father with, the one he destroyed Nervod with. If only Ky knew the real reason Lokar was smiling.

"Oh, Ky…" Maya couldn't tell him how she felt; about how she always felt. Ky would never understand them.

"Maya, look," Ky spoke timidly, "I've never told you this but… I…"

Lokar rolled his eyes. Here it goes… great… This is going grand.

"Maya," He began again, this time with more confidence by the way his eyes sparkled, "I… I love you and I don't care if Lokar is your grandfather."
