Lonely Rain
At a side standing building, stood a figure clad in black. Slowly he looked up at the sky. This was covered with dark clouds.
A cold wind blew through his hair and his cape. Parts of the gray buildings were covered with a thin layer of ice. So it was when Ichigo was sad or depressed. When Ichigo was fighting it was not so. Even if the sun was not shining, it was better than that….
Rarely, the sun shines.
Only sometimes. Only when he and his family were together. But that seemed less and less.
Actually, it did not matter Zangetsu.
But if things continue… then….
/Ichigo? /, ask the Zanpakuto.
'What is, Zangetsu?', said his owner.
Ichigo didn't sound annoyed.
/Are you alright? /
'Why do you ask?'
/The sky… darkens. /
It was a while still.
'Sorry.'
He sounded sad.
/Has something happened? / Zangetsu was worried. If Ichigo was like that, then…
'It's raining again.', said Ichigo softly.
A thunder was heard. Zangetsu could do nothing against the heavy rain that fell on the building now.
Ichigo locked himself in his inner thoughts. As always.
No one knew his true self.
Steps. The Zanpakuto turned and saw the albino version of his owner's. It's usually so broad grin was gone.
'Did he have another nightmare?', asked the Hollow.
Zangetsu nodded.
/With the rain ... come the memories. /
'You know what, Zangetsu?', began the Hollow, and looked up towards the rain.
Zangetsu looked at him quizzically.
'I hate the rain.'
/Yes ... I do too. /, agreed Zangetsu.
'We are the only ones who know the pain of the king. No one knows. Neither his family nor the Shinigamis. Even his friends are clueless.'
Zangetsu was a little surprised when he heard a trace of anger in the voice of the Hollow. But soon after nodded understandingly.
'Can ... I ask you something?'
'That was already a question, King.', replied the Albino amused.
Ichigo ignored him.
'I can rely on you, right?'
The two beings looked at each other confused.
/Of course, Ichigo. /, it came immediately from Zangetsu.
'Also on you Hollow?', Ichigo asked hopefully.
'Have I an other choice? I can't anyway out of your twisted thoughts, King.'
They felt that the rain stopped a bit.
/Don't worry, Ichigo. No matter what happens, we are with you. /
The rain stopped completely, so that they saw only the dark clouds.
'…thank you.'
Zangetsu smiled slightly, and even the Hollow had a trace of a smile on his face.
They were the only which the King confided. And so it should always be. It would always be. For only they knew Ichigo. No one else, and only the two alone.
Even if his friends tried. They would never get close to Ichigo's soul. To his heart.
They, a quiet Zanpakuto, one annoying Hollow and a naive human, were three parts of a soul.
Only through the existence of the other they live.
And together they will die.
Thus, it's predestined.
