The Doctor sat in the Tardis, alone. He'd just dropped off Donna, but now there was no one left. His companion slot was empty once again, and all he had were memories. And suddenly, he was there. With her, Rose Tyler. Not in anything fancy, of course, it was just a typical day. A bright blue sweater and dark jeans. But she was still stunning to him. She was leaning over the balcony, distant thoughts running through her mind and a far-off look on her face. His brilliant Rose, sun shining on her face. Suddenly she turned, noticing him, and her face split into the most beautiful smile he'd ever seen, eyes bright with joy.
"Doctor!" she beamed. "Come to join me?" The sun was shining on her golden hair, illuminating it in the otherwise alien landscape. She turned again, facing the landscape, and he strode to the edge of the balcony to meet her. "Sorry, it's just… Isn't it such a beautiful day?" Her eyes were on the sky, the plethora of colors shining through the distant and unfamiliar sky, but his eyes were on her, and there they remained.
"Yeah, it is." Three words in response. That was all it took for her to beam her brilliant smile again, and he loved it.
"Right then, Barcelona, was it?" Rose extended her hand to him, a silent show of affection, and it was his turn to grin.
"Oh, you're going to love it, Rose Tyler! Have I mentioned the dogs yet?"
"That's all you ever talk about! D'you mind if we visit Mum first, though? Haven't had a chance to drop off the gift I bought."
He raised an eyebrow at this. "What, wouldn't you rather see the noseless dogs first?
"You're just afraid of getting the date wrong again, aren't ya?"
At this, the Doctor brought a hand to his chest dramatically. "Rose Tyler, how dare you suggest such a thing?! I'll have you know my driving skills are perfectly fine!"
"Sure, Doctor. Sure."
Author's Note: Right, then! Short little drabble for you here. Quick little thing 'cause I couldn't get it out of my head. Anyways, after doing a quick check-up on the Doctor Who wiki, it turns out the Doctor never really did go to Barcelona with Rose, on television, comic, or otherwise. He did, however, decided on a visit at the end of the comic Forgotten. In my head, I'd date the first little bit, when the Doctor's sitting alone in the Tardis, right after the Runaway Bride. The flashback, however, is in between Fear Her and Army of Ghosts, the first part of the season 2 finale. I know this oneshot dreadfully short, so sorry for that, but it'd mean a lot if you reviewed.
