Last I checked
Shadows
Were black
Dark and cold
But this one Shimmered
With a golden light
Of the Norse
Gods
She was descended
From.
Love broke
Her
Hatred
Consumed her
And I watched
This shadow
Dance.
Poisoning
Her,
The man,
Slowly
And I could not stop
It
Her
Them.
A mother
I loved,
Turned vengeful.
The sapphire
Of her love
Frozen
Hardened
Shielded her
From
Being hurt
Being saved.
The poisonous
Bird
Woman
Trapped
In a cage
Behind bars
Both mental
And governmental.
A topless waitress
Is my new shadow
Of a mother
It doesn't seem
I ever had.
I lay down
For the father
And a .38
Destroyed her
Me
Too.
Bleached blonde
Shadows
Came next
Dyed behind
Bathroom doors.
Too friendly
With the neighbours
I was gone again.
A shadow myself
As I hovered
Barely there
With the rich woman
Cruela DeVil
Until I decided
I would starve
No more.
An angel
She was
Until the husband
Came calling
The shadow
Behind shadows
She disappeared
One day
Drowned
In a bottle
Of liquor
And pills
My fault
And so
Punishment
Was in order
A comic strip
Given
"Don't touch me"
How appropriate.
The nice
family
forsaken
For someone
A little more
My style.
Russian curses
And cigarettes
Salvaging
What could be
Resold
For money
Learning
To make my own
Way.
I left
The shadows
Behind
To enter
The cold
World
With the comic strip
Artist
And still,
I yearned
For the golden shadow
Still dancing
In my
Mind
My
World
I will always
Know
What time
It is
In California.
I hope I get a good grade on this, I actually like the way it came out and so I felt compelled to upload too so I could see what everyone elses thought of it. Not to say it's my best work ever, but it wasn't as horrible as I'd thought it be. Usually for school assignments, all creative inspriationg deserts -sigh- Please, tell me what you think of it though after reading and I'd love to know if you actually tell where all the foster mothers fit in
