Chapter 1
"I think we should break up..." there she said it. She finally let the words painfully drip from her lips into the silence that was there relationship, or what's left of it anyway. After letting a few tears escape her eyes Piper got up to leave as she got no reply from her boyfriend but was stopped by a helpless grip on her wrist.
"Why?" was the only word Larry could manage to get out, he was sobbing now, starring doulfully into her eyes.
"I...I just don't think it's going to work anymore Larry, I mean with me going off to college and you being at work all the time. It's not fair on you, on us. I feel this is the wiser decision and if you loved me you'd respect that. I'm sorry." and with that she walked out not even giving him the chance to reply. Once Piper shut the door she heard a loud cry from inside, resisting the urge to go back in and hold him in her arms she got into her car and cried silently.
After a few moments she started her car and drove towards her best friend's, she was 20 minutes aways.

"Oh my god, Pipes i'm so sorry! You can stay here tonight if you'd like, I have movies and ice cream!?" Polly tried comforting her best friend. She knew her and Larry were going through a rough patch but she didn't know it was this serious.
Piper just nodded and went to embrace the loving hug her best friend offered. No matter what, Polly was always there when Piper needed her and she had been since they were kids.
They went into Polly's bedroom and got changed, Piper borrowed a oversized top and a pair of tracksuit bottoms as she didn't have anything to change into and Polly was wearing pyjama's.
Piper picked a movie, some romantic comedy and got into bed whilst Polly went to fetch the cookie dough ice cream she had stored in her freezer.
Polly returned to Piper already half asleep, she got into bed and nudged her best friend telling her that she has 2 spoons and a big tub of ice cream for her here. Immediately Piper turned and grabbed a spoon and started shovelling the sweet confectionery into her mouth. Smiling at her best friend as if to say thanks.
"What would you do without me!?" Polly smirked

It had been a week and Piper was leaving for college, Polly was coming with her aswell. They left rather early so they would be at their destination about 2 hours before they were needed there but Piper wanted to unpack and be ready.
They both waved off Piper's parents, got into the car and set off on their 3 hour journey.
On the way they listened to various bands and artists, such as New Politics, Arctic Monkeys and Awolnation, mostly chosen by Piper.
The journey seemed relatively short but they were both glad to be out of the car. Piper took a moment to take in her surroundings but Polly was straight in the boot of the car for their bags, eager to get to their dorm room.
After checking where their rooms were they found they weren't put together even tho specifically asking if they can be. This made Piper sad, she had no idea who her new roomate would be but she made her way to her room and unpacked. Her roomate hadn't turned up yet which she was pleased with, maybe she'd never come Piper thought.
