Red lights flashed, emergency alarms blared at deafening volume. "Get out! Now! While you still can!" Vlad Masters screamed as dozens of people rushed past him. "This place is gonna blow! You need to get out to!" One man wearing a white polo shirt with a red tie ran past him, hastily barking out his advice. "Not until everyone is safe..." Vlad muttered to himself. "Is everyone out yet?" Vlad asked one of his employees. "As far as we can tell, just one family left. I think they're the Fenton's." The woman replied. "Oh no..." Vlad's face paled, his crystal blue eyes growing wide. "Get to safety. I'll get them out." Vlad ordered. "But sir-" The woman began to protest. "Now! That's an order!" Vlad took off, deeper into the building. "Mr. Masters!" The woman cried out after him, but didn't dare follow. Her fear and adrenaline took over, and she turned and ran out of the exit.

"Just a bit further!" Vlad encouraged, holding a orange haired girl in his arms as he ran. "We're not gonna make it!" A large, bulky man in a orange and black spandex outfit ran beside the millionaire. "Vlad... If we don't make it, I'm sorry for that accident back in college." The bulky man said. "No need Jack. It was for the-" A raven haired boy lightly elbowed Vlad in the hip. "Less talking, more running for our lives!" He interjected. Jack nodded, pumping his legs as fast as he was able. Vlad easily kept pace with the two, refusing to leave them behind.

"Warning: Core temperature critical, Meltdown in sixty seconds. Fifty nine... Fifty eight... Fifty seven..."

The computerized words struck fear into the hearts of the three, causing them to run even faster.

"Nineteen... Eighteen... Seventeen..."

The two men ran out of the exit, only then noticing that the boy was gone. One blonde haired boy in a jock's jacket followed three seconds later. "That loser Fenton kid actually saved me!" The boy sounded shocked. "Danny... Where is Danny?" Jack gripped the boy's shoulders.

"Thirteen... Twelve... Eleven... Ten..."

"He was supposed to be right behind me!" The jock slapped the man's hands off of him. "You left my son? You left my son!" Jack shoved him out of the way and made to run back into the facility. Vlad put the orange haired girl on the ground, grabbing Jack's shoulder. "Let me." Vlad gently pushed Jack back, when the young boy ran around the corner.

"Three... Two... One..."

The poor boy didn't stand a chance, not making it two more steps before the core of the chemical plant exploded. It wasn't just the explosion that hit him, oh no.

It was also the chemicals, all those tanks filled with hundreds of gallons of toxic waste and experimental serum.

"Danny!" Both Jack and Vlad screamed as the explosion sent him flying forward, chemicals poured over him, a flood of toxicity and experiments that swept him away. A heavy piece of metal flew through the air, smashing into Vlad's head and the world went black. Jack fell to his knees, watching his son's face disappear into the liquid.

They didn't find Danny for two days, the authorities searched through the liquid and rubble. When they did find him, Danny was unconscious. Looked like he was dead. Many thought he was.

Maddie came to the hospital, having finally returned from a visit with her cousin, several states away. Danny's family and his only friend Tucker had stayed at his bedside as much as they possibly could. Tucker skipped school twice.

Danny woke up three weeks later, and promptly fainted when he was told about his short coma. The entire Fenton family, and Vlad was overjoyed. Tucker had never lost faith in his friend, knowing he would wake up. Everything seemed to be back to normal, but one person knew it wasn't. Knew that Danny's life was changed, forever.

"I am so sorry, Little Badger. I did not want this for you..."
