Chapter 4: Back To School
(Max POV)
When we went back down stairs, basically everybody was outside, playing tag, and Iggy and Ella on the swinging bench on the side. Those two. My mom shot Ella a look, and she rolled her eyes, shooting a smile at her mother and Iggy. "Who feels like ice cream?!" my mother shouted, as everybody was already in the car in less than 3 seconds. We drove just around the block, down to Home Scoop Ice Cream Shop. My mom got vanilla along with Ella and of course Iggy. Me Fang, and the rest of the flock except for Angel all got chocolate, Angel got Mint Chocolate Chip. The shop had two seated tables only so Fang and I had our table, Ella and Iggy, Gazzy and Angel, and Dr. M had her own table, not too far away from Ella. About an hour or so later, we decided to leave. On the way out, I got an eerie feeling that the employees were eying us weirdly. When we got to the door, we pushed and pulled, but it would not open. I started to feel all dizzy, and my vision blurred before me. I fell on Fang and he had to hold me up by my arms. "What's wrong." he said all droopy. I think he was feeling it too. He soon dropped me, and we both fell like a bag of bricks. On the floor, I noticed a weird green gas coming from the ventilation system. Sleeping gas! "Nice to see you again, Max." I could recognize that voice from anywhere. Ari. I looked up to see his half human form face covered in a gas mask. My eyes felt heavy and my breathing slowed. He smiled, just as I blacked out into what seemed like a never ending sleep.
It was black, every square inch, just black. But then, there was a blinding light, and the smell of a cleaner. Lysol cleaning wipes. I opened my eyes and tried to move, but my arms and legs were in restraints. There was a big room, floored with carpet, and a desk, and a white board, and a bigger desk. The other members of the flock were next to me. There were textbooks everywhere. "Hello students. Please take your seats." The restraints on all of us freed us, and I grabbed my wrists. The metal from the restraints chaffed them. "I said, please take your seats" she said with a snotty attitude. We all sat down. I raised my hand. "Yes miss, uh" she had to look at her clip board of names," miss ride" "Where are we?" I asked, knowing all too well where we were. "Well max, you are at school." My heart sunk down to the lowest level of my body, thinking about the situation. We were back to the place we feared.
We were back at the school.
