Stony prompt I received on tumblr, just thought I'd share!
Fingers tightening around the fabric of his shirt, Steve closed his eyes and shivered. There was something about this unnaturally natural cold that made him think that the AC was acting up or there was a window open, but after checking both, a sigh left his reddened lips and clouded before his eyes. The Stark Tower had this sense of modern regality about it, and with it's advance technology and the fact that heat rises, Steve didn't understand why there could be such a chill on the almost-top floor. He paced to the couch where he sat and hugged a hot cup of coffee like his life depended on it, crossing his legs tightly and hunching over to preserve his body heat. Then a man emerged through the sliding doors.
"What're you all cross about?" the short one asked, using his usual, vaguely condescending tone and raising a brow at Steve, who hadn't noticed that by tensing all his muscles up to keep warm, he'd developed such a frown that it could have rivaled Simon Pegg in Hot Fuzz.
"What, nothing… I'm just trying to keep warm. It's freezing in here, Tony, what the heck happened? I would've never thought it would get so cold in here!" Steve's shoulders shot up to his ears to prove his point. He now was deliberately pouting because the now-named Tony was finding it funny to look at.
"You act like a puppy one minute, a kitten the next. Steve, I literally don't know what you're talking about, it's pretty warm in here!" Tony gestured the entire room before walking towards the other man and sticking his hands to his hips. Steve had a quick swig of what was left in his mug and then took advantage of the coffee table in front of him, using a coaster which Tony rarely did.
"Liar! How are you so warm!?" Steve gaped, furrowing his brows and tucking his hands underneath his long-sleved t-shirt with a very vintage American flag printed on it and stripes at the ends of the sleeves. Tony sat down beside him, arms stretched as far as they could go along the back of the couch, and Steve decided that he'd be more useful as a human body warmer.
"Wha- Hey, what're you doing!?" Tony said as he was suddenly cuddled into Steve, tensing and relaxing within the same second. His hand was in mid-air but finally found it's place against Steve's chest as he sighed.
"You are… Really warm…" Steve commented, pressing the tip of his nose into Tony's hair and keeping his right arm around the upper part of his back. The smaller of the two had his head rested on the part of Steve that connected his chest to his shoulder, and wouldn't make eye contact with the Captain if it killed him. Tony was too embarrassed by his embarrassment.
"I've been working," said Tony, plainly, talking to Steve's American flag, fingers relaxing on the fabric.
"On?"
"Suits," he mumbled, "I guess that's why I'm warm, because I'm working.
"Oh,"
There was a pleasant silence for a while as they watched the snow fall outside and hit the outer balcony of the Tower like icing sugar atop of a cake, then Tony moved himself closer to Steve, wrapping his arm around his middle and treating him like an over-sized teddy bear. He deeply breathed into Steve's collar bone.
"You still cold?"
"No, not really,"
