Author's Note: I realize that most of these things are at the end of the story. However, for this to make sense at all, one must first check out the pic at this link, as it was written about it specifically: imgDOTphotobucketDOTcom/albums/v254/GilleyZ/ratchjackdaww.png - (Clicky link in profile). Art by ChibiJamie and Cinderburster. Scribbles by me. Hasbro owns all this shit. Props to Franz Kafka. Out.
"Really - I didn't mean for it end up like this."
"No? So how did you mean for it to end up like?"
"Well, how was I to know it wouldn't work?"
"Wouldn't work? Wouldn't WORK?! That's like saying that this," Ratchet says motioning up and down to the new body he had, a body that was quite human, and apparently borne of all the weakness that go with it, "is a slight mistake. Just what do you plan to do about it?!"
Wheeljack sighed and walked over to the pod. He looked it over carefully. "I don't know what could possibly have gone wrong. I followed the theoretics exact--" before the mad scientist could finish, the old doctor interrupted - "Theoretics? You mean you based all of this damned foolishness on THEORETICS?!?!?"
Wheeljack shrugged, "I'm sorry Ratch - I guess I was just hoping the archival footage I saw of the humans advanced technology was something innovative, something that we hadn't seen before."
"Wheeljack," Ratchet said carefully "what archival footage?"
Wheeljack led him over to one of Teletran-1's terminals. On the screen, a scientist had devised a means of teleportation - a lateral advance of Spacebridge technology. Only the scientist hadn't foreseen an insect that had entered one of the pods with him, and now, he was turning into a genetically spliced hybrid of both the human and insect.
Unfortunately, Ratchet recognized it immediately. It was what humans call a movie - a work of fiction. The look of the teleportation was achieved through special effects - literally, smoke and mirrors. Spike had shown it to him not too long after they'd arrived on Earth.
"Wheeljack?"
"Yes, Ratchet?"
"You based your work on a work of fiction."
"What?"
"It was a movie. It wasn't real."
"Oh."
"The question is...how did we end up as humans?"
They looked at each other. They looked in unison at the "pod".
In one voice they asked, worriedly, "Umm...Spike?"
Wheeljack looked over at his old friend. Placing a hand on the bandged doc's shoulder, who'd been injured when the duo had been ejected from the pod, "I'll get us back to our proper forms, Ratchet, I promise.
Ratchet just groaned.
