A/N: The italic words are from a song called rain ~A scene drenched in rain~ by the Swedish visual kei singer YOHIO.

Rain was pouring down. Even the animals had sought shelter under trees and in holes in the ground. It was dark, and it was cold. The sky was a deep gray, the rain was falling hard and thick, making it impossible to see more than an arms length ahead. Everything was covered in water, from the biggest house to the smallest rock.

I stood in the middle of it all. I don't remember how I had gotten there. I can't even remember what I was doing there. I just remember him. He stood in front of me, just out of reach. The rain that kept pouring made him look blurry.

Somewhere in the rain

He just stood there, looking at me. He said nothing. Even though the rain made him blurry, I could see the expression on his face. Full of angst and regret.

I felt something hot on my face that wasn't rain. I felt it fall down my cheek and I realized that it was a tear.

Why was I crying about it? He had done nothing wrong.

Your tears dried on your face

If anyone had done anything, it was me. I had told everyone I knew that he didn't exist, that he was just a fragment of my imagination. Why was he feeling regret?

Maybe he thought it was his fault. That he had been too busy to see me. That I could understand. What I couldn't understand was that he thought that he could have skipped his duties to see me. Of course he couldn't do that. It was his job!

I wonder if you still

As I was thinking about these things, he had taken a step closer to me. He was now right in front of me. I could see his bright blue eyes clearly. The snowflake shape in them. His strikingly white hair was lying against his head, drenched by the rain. I could even see the faint freckles on his face.

I opened my mouth to say something, but he lifted his hand up and held a finger to my lips. His finger felt colder that it usually would. As if it was part of the icy air around us.

"You can't say anything. You have already stopped believing."

As he said this, his features became blurry once more. It couldn't be because of the rain; we were face to face.

I suddenly realized what what happening. He was fading away.

"No, don't go... Please."

He took his finger away from my mouth and just looked into my green eyes. He didn't say another word.

"Don't leave me... I'm sorry for saying that you weren't real. I know you are! Please, don't go..."

He smiled softly. As he kept fading away and and gradually became more and more transparent, tears fell down my face.

"Please, don't leave me..."

With a last soft smile, he vanished. I couldn't see him anymore. But I knew he was there. He had been there just a moment ago.

Can see me

"Jack..."
