Hang on, Don't leave me

"Severus, please don't leave me," Victoria began to cry, "I ne-need you." She grasped his hand and begged him to hang on, to keep breathing. "The mediwizards will be here soon, please, God please-" she sobbed, " just hold on. I love you."

He was lying in a pool of his own blood and he couldn't even muster up the strength to tell her about the anti-venom in his pocket. His mind was screaming, "I love you too. I'm hanging on." He drew another shallow, ragged breath and she spoke again, "Sev," a tear fell, "if you dare leave me alone with a baby-" She sobbed. He wanted to hold her and tell her he would never leave, but he couldn't. She sat there holding his hand and sobbing till the mediwizard arrived.

"Mam, please wait out here. Someone will see to you-"

"Joe, get in here, we're losin' him!" The man darted into the room and Victoria mentally slapped herself as she remembered: "I'm brewing an anti-venom. I want everyone to have a bottle in case he releases the snake."

"I'll tell Dumbledore." She had kissed him and run off. Now she stepped to the door and shouted, "There's anti-venom in his robes!" The mediwizard found the red liquid and poured it down Snape's throat. They slowed the bleeding and levitated him to the hospital wing. Neville waited with Victoria and joyously informed her that Voldemort was dead. He comforted the pretty 21 year old and prayed that Severus would make it through. After hours that felt like days, the mediwizard stepped out of the wing.

"How is he?" She hated the fear in her voice.

"He's alive, but he is in a coma. If he doesn't wake up soon, he probably won't make it."

Victoria sat down and Neville wrapped his arm around here. The Irish woman was shaking terribly. "He will make it, he's strong and he knows you need him."

"I hope you're right Neville. I love him…" She turned to the healer. "Can I see him?"

"Yes." She walked into the room. He was lying on the bed at the end and seeing her man, who was always so strong and never let anyone see him at his weakest crumbled what was left of her façade She took his hand and her tears bathed his face. "Severus, I don't know if you can hear me, but I need you. Our baby needs you. I'm tryin' to be strong, but I-" she took a deep breath, "I can't do this alone. I'm scared Severus. Please come back to us." She sat there, thinking about all the important days in their life. The day they met, the day she asked him to go to church with her, the day he accepted Christ, his baptism, the night he proposed, their secret wedding and the night their daughter was conceived. She eventually fell asleep with her head on his chest.

Over the next three months, Severus remained unconscious, but he spoke and he tossed and turned. She was praying that he would wake up, but she knew he probably wouldn't remember that night. She would be lucky if he remembered anything. When he finally woke up, she ran to the hospital wing her nightgown, which did nothing to hide her pregnancy. Her wedding ring glinted in the light, but all her attention was focused on Severus. She drank in the sight of him and then rushed to his side. But he didn't remember that she was pregnant.

"Severus! Oh my God, I've missed you!" She threw her arms around him.

"Victoria? I thought you were dead, they said you were dead!"

"No, baby I'm right here. I was ashamed, because I didn't fight and I knew you would be disappointed, but, Sev, I'm sure you noticed…I'm pregnant."

"I…"

"We are having a little girl Severus. I was so scared," and she cried while he held her.

"I love you Victoria, and I will never leave you again."

"I love you and I'm staying forever Severus."

And a few months later, Severus Snape looked down at his baby girl and promised that she would never be without him.
