Emma Roberts – Jill Roberts
The main person in this series. She seems to be the leader of the group, like her cousin Sidney was in her teenage days. She is not a big horror fan, unlike most of her friends and boyfriend Trevor Sheldon.
Hayden Panettiere – Kirby Reed
Jill's sister-like best friend. Jill has known Kirby for as long as they can remember. She is a big horror fan, unlike Jill, but hates most remakes. She has a thing for Robbie.
Marielle Jaffe – Olivia Morris
Jill's neighbor and the H.B.I.C of the school. She is not afraid to speak what's on her mind. Another horror fan, but also likes all other genres.
Rory Culkin – Charlie Walker
Big horror movie buff. He has a major crush on Kirby, but won't admit it. He thinks that there should be a club at the high school especially for movie fans. Best friend of Robbie.
Nico Tortorella - Trevor Sheldon
Jill's boyfriend. Jock and a bad boy. He is mainly in the group because of Jill. Very mysterious, always seems like he is holding a secret.
Erik Knudson – Robbie Mercer
Charlie's best friend. Horror fan like the rest. Agrees with Charlie's idea and helps him attempt to make it a reality.
Britt Robertson – Marnie Cooper
She is on both sides of the group. She is friends with the group, but friends with Jenny Randall. She is smart, and quiet at most times. She seems not the like horror movies, but no one really knows…
Aimee Teegarden – Jenny Randall
The vain of Jill's existence. She dislikes everyone in the group except Trevor and Marnie. Since she hates Jill she tries making her life hell as convienient for her as possible.
Josh Hutcherson – Tommy Roberts
Jill's brother. He is a senior at Woodsboro high, and one of the biggest party animals of his class. He loves his sister, even though they end up fighting a lot.
Mary McDonnell – Kate Roberts
Jill and Tommy's mother. Works at a big business. She cares for her kids. She wants to focus on Reconciling with Ray, after just getting divorced.
Rachael Ray – Martha Reed
Kirby's mother. Fun and bubbly. A chef. She treats the other teens like they are her own.
Matthew Perry - Raymond Roberts
Jill's father. He is divorced from Kate, but still lives at home because of Jill. Jill adores him, which is why he can't leave Woodsboro, and devastate his kids.
