A Secret Unkept

House is the property of people who aren't me. If it was, you'd know. (smirk)

Alrighty! Yet another Gregory House x Robert Chase story. This one is kind of different for me. No angst. (Okay, so while Never Gonna Get Up was technically angst free, Chase was still picked on). I love angst. It's odd not writing angst. O.o Meep. I'm ranting. Kinda drabble-ish, as each part is only a 100 words long.

Wilson wanted his DVD player back. House was an ass to keep it from him, using all those absurd and stupid excuses as to why he couldn't bring it in. So, he gave up and decided to just go get it. He still had a key, after all. However, he really hadn't expected House to actually be awake when he did show up. What surprised him even more was to see Chase in the older male's pajama bottoms cooking breakfast. He opened his mouth to apologize but no sound came, so he turned and left, forgetting the DVD player.

Stacey recognized the jacket right away. It was old and faded, though she knew it had been well loved in it's "younger" days. She'd see House wear it a million times before. It had been his favourite, once upon a time. Probably the only reason he still had the damn jacket even though she told him a million times to get rid of it. She told herself it was a coincidence it looked exactly the same. She'd never been able to convince him to let her wear it, and so it seemed a little unfair to see Chase wearing it.

House wasn't answering his phone. Not that Cuddy assumed he was busy, it probably just meant he didn't want to talk to her. She reasoned that she should probably be insulted, but the train of thought died when the phone actually picked up. There was complaining about never answering the damn phone, and a polite hello. Cuddy's mind blanched again. She took a deep breath, and spoke again, telling Chase to get House off his lazy ass to answer the phone. She heard the blonde laugh and do as he was told. Finally something to tease House about, she mused.

Something was off. It didn't take Foreman long to realize that. It was finding out what that was the hard part. He mused about it for a while, resisting the urge to bring it up. He figured it had something to do with House (which probably meant Cameron was involved as well). He mentioned it to Chase though, off-handedly, and the blonde had laughed, banishing the thought. It hit him then, and he stared at Chase for a moment, then his eyes traveled to House in the other room. He choked, more surprised that House was into men.

The first time she saw it, Cameron reasoned she was seeing things. However that thought was quickly banished the second time she'd seen it happen, along with any hopes she had ever had about either of them. She kept quiet, and she doubted either of them knew she had seen them. She knew she should have said something, but couldn't. They continued in empty halls and behind locked doors. She suppoused it shouldn't have really surprised her, but was a shock all the same. After all, seeing two men she fancied kissing each other was depressing no matter who you were.
