Prelude

So maybe it probably wasn't the best idea to taunt Bellatrix in the middle of a fight. Maybe it wasn't exactly the most glorious death, I mean getting stunned and falling through a curtain? Totally 1960. But I do have to say that heaven isn't so bad, I mean, I get to see James and Lily again. Unfortunately, Remus showed up a few days ago too, along with cousin Dora. I'm pretty sure we were all a little sad when one of Molly's sons showed up, Fred always was a funny one, definitely Marauder material. Then the others started piling in, another redhead, Charlie I think. Hagrid was next apparently having been the first to fall after Harry's ruse failed. Neville Longbottom tried to make a last stand, needless to say it failed. One after another the dead kept piling in, hugging loved ones and crying about the loss of the battle, or the knowledge that they wouldn't be the last.

My old Professors showed up too, Slughorn, Flitwick, then McGonagall last after having watched the rest of the staff killed. I knew what would be coming next. Students started piling in, Dumbledore appeared from another room amidst all the chaos to greet his old students, coworkers, and friends. After many hours, just as the sun below was rising Ron appeared, then Hermione. I could tell by their tear stained faces that the one I was waiting for wouldn't be far behind. I leaned on Moony for some semblance of comfort as the final figure materialized, except it wasn't what we all expected.

In the place of where Harry should be standing was a figure, if I were to have to describe this being to you I wouldn't even be able to begin, the only way I would be able to describe this being would be Deity. The Deity appeared in a great show of light, everyone around me disappeared instantly. In their places, nothing but dust. Having seen enough I finally broke down. "Why are you doing this to me", I ask bowing my head causing my shaggy hair to fall into my eyes, I quickly grow enraged and yell out "haven't you taken enough!?"

"Yes." The Deity said, and in that one word I heard a thousand voices. I heard the humorous voice of James, the calming voice of Dumbledore, the teasing voice of Lily. I heard Remus, Ron, and Hermione. But at the very forefront I heard a long forgotten voice, my darling Kay. "I have a proposition for you my child." The Deity seemed to touch me, and in a flash of blinding light, I died a second time.
