"Along the aisle between the tables he walked, and he spotted the three Malfoys, huddled together as though unsure whether or not they were supposed to be there, but nobody was paying them any attention."
Harry paused, thinking of the hawthorn wand still in his pocket. The wand that really, just wasn't his. The wand that, should his idea work, and he thought it must, he would no longer need. Making his decision, he made a quick turn so that he was now walking up the aisle to where the Malfoys were sitting, Draco sandwiched between his mother and father.
Harry hesitated and then adjusted the invisibility cloak just enough so that his front was visible to the Malfoys though still shielded or unnoticed by the others in the hall. Draco caught his eye and stood, moving to stand in front of him as Harry slowly drew the hawthorn wand out of his pocket.
Lucius and Narcissa watched warily, though Draco gave no response. He and Harry stared at each other for a long moment, before Harry held the wand out with the handle towards Draco. Harry gripped it gently in his fist, as he watched Luna trying to describe the Blibbering Humdinger to the crowd.
The realisation creeping in, Draco reached his hand out slowly and, though without malice, yanked the wand out of Harry's slightly resistant grasp.
Their eyes met once more, and Harry gave him a small, curt nod before moving away softly.
Narcissa gave a slight whimper while Lucius looked away, a carefully blank expression upon his weary face.
"Wingardium leviosa", Draco muttered quietly, waving the wand in the direction of a stray goblet of pumpkin juice on the table next to them, and guiding it towards his mother. Narcissa caught it smoothly, and used the distraction to hide her face.
As his mother placed the goblet back on the table, Draco looked up to see that Harry had gone.
*Nineteen Years Later*
"Draco caught sight of Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny staring at him, his eyes catching Harry's for a split second, nodded curtly, and turned away again."
