Wind swept past him, whipping his hair and chilling his face. Hiccup closed his eyes and spread his arms out wide, clinging to the ebony-scaled body with only his knees. He opened his mouth and tasted the crisp, clean air. It filled his lungs with a sharp coldness, invigorating him and sending chills up and down his skin.

Toothless held his wings out to their full length, occasionally giving a few flaps to keep them steady, but otherwise letting the current carry them wherever it willed. He swished his tail from side to side, in order to stay balanced, but the rest of his body stayed limp.

It was such a wonderful thing, to fly. There were no boundaries, just endless horizon.

I wrote this a couple of months ago. I think this was actually the first HTTYD I wrote. I know it's really short, but I thought I'd go ahead and post it anyway. Please leave a review! :)
