The New General
I looked around my office, my new office, and could hardly believe I'm really here. I mean who would have thought I would have been given command of the SGC for crying out loud! If anyone had told me 7 years ago that I would be running the SGC, instead of leading SG1 I would have laughed. (But then that whole thing still surprises me sometimes)
But it's really true, the plaque on the door reads Brig. General O'Neill and here I am sitting in the big leather chair waiting for chaos to descend over the base. Walter comes in with a stack of mission reports for me to sign as well as some problem with the potatoes in the mess. He also tells me that SG1 has arrived for their 1600 pre-mission briefing, but I already knew that, I'd been watching the 4 of them through the window for the last minute or so. Ok here goes.
I walk into the briefing room, I smile as SG1's newest CO snaps to attention, but I wave him off. "At ease Colonel."
I turn to Daniel to start the briefing, "So Daniel; something about an ancient temple." I joke
Daniel stares at me for a minute then laughs, "You have been spending way too much time with that husband of yours, Sam!"
