This would have probably worked better if I had uploaded these fics when I first saw inception because I am sure there are many others out there like it. Or not, since Cobb/Ariadne isn't a popular ship. I guess it's the age difference which is weird since Leo is dating someone only two years older than Ellen Page, but whatever.
The fic takes place right as Cobb leaves the plane, you know that moment where he kinda acknowledges each member of his team? Enjoy and please review!
Cobb walked out to the baggage claim area and picked up his bag. As he walked he slowly acknowledged every member of his team. He nodded towards Eames and Arthur, who actually gave a small smile back. He looked over at Saito, both grateful for the other for what they did. And he ignored Fischer, who looked at Cobb a moment longer than was necessary. As he walked through the hallway he watched Fischer walking up ahead and slowed down. He needed to thank this person with more than just a nod. He needed to say it, to let his feeling of how grateful he was spill out.
Before he even stopped he could feel someone walking beside him, and didn't even need to turn to know who it was. He grabbed her arm and pulled her aside to a deserted hallway.
"I thought we were to pretend we didn't know each other?" she whispered looking at the passing members of the flight, who did not even to notice or care there were two people whispering in alone in a hallway. She turned when she heard him let out a deep sigh.
"What's wrong Cobb," Ariadne asked.
"I just wanted…wanted to thank you," he said. This statement took her by surprise. She then let out a small laugh.
"For what, sticking my nose where it shouldn't belong?"
He smiled and let out a small chuckle as well.
"Yes, thank you for your nose," and brushed his finger over her nose. At contact, Ariadne could feel her face going red. He immediately saw the effect his touch had on her and took his finger back.
"Umm, well Miles was certainly right, you are definitely a better architect than me."
Ariadne smiled feeling the blood pulsing through her face. "But I'm still a student who needs a teacher."
Cobb looked down at the floor and then back at her soft brown eyes. "We'll see," he said with a small smile and started to walk away. He looked back and with a smile said, "I'll see you around."
She lifted her hand up meekly and smiled back as she watched him walk away. And finally starts to breathe again.
Hope you all liked it! And reviews are appreciated!
