Disclainer: I do not own the characters, though the scene is ours.
Note: Ok this is another rather AU scene it's supposed to be Aragorn thinking about Legolas, though if I re worked it, it would probably fit better the other way around.... I was rather thinking of the setting as Lothlorien but yeah anyway, it doesn't fit with the books or the movie of course. (laughs) since Legolas isn't dead.... but yeah it's more or less just a pointless angst scene I wanted to write. So yeah please comments if you want, after all they are the food of authors. ^_^
'Silver'

It was a beautiful night, the moon over my head was full; silver as only silver can be. It lay upon the small lake in gentle brush strokes, bleeding over into the rest of the world around. Accented perfectly by the trouble purple, blues, and blacks that made up the sounds. That was the world that surrounded me that night. Magical as only this forest can be.
Something in my heart whispered to me to be silent as i walked, to make no sound if I could not. So I did not instead I sat down beneath the branches of the weeping willow to simply listen. For nothing is ever totally silent, there is always the sound of the world around us. The soft rustle of the window, to the pitter patter of tiny critter feet.
It reminded me of him. The silver, it had been his color as much as the golden day light had been. If I close my eyes I can still see him looking up at me, lips slightly parted soft words of love upon those still cold lips. It makes my heart scream and my eyes cry to think of it. Yet even that can not ruin the beauty of the night, simply give it a bitter sweet taste.
Has it been that long now? No I think it has not, for even they do not know the sorrow that I hold in my heard. That which I can not let go. I look to the heavens, to see those stars bright enough to still compete against the light of the moon. But they never have any answer for me, silence is always their way. Some can hear their song... I am not one of thoses. If I was, would I like what they had to say to me?
Slowly it dawns on me, that this lake and this place. This was the place were we first made love. Tears slide silently down my cheeks, gleaming like diamonds in the light.
Something soft on my cheek and I turn to see you sitting there next to me. Your gentle smile, and the caress of your lips upon my face as you kiss my tears away. Suddenly you stand up, pulling me after you; laughing... Calling me to come swimming with you.
But no, that was a long time ago.. there is no one here to pick me up and kiss away my fears, or my tears this time. I'm all alone.
