Stay, here, at my side, with me this moment.
"Will you... stay... please?" She looked up with tears in her chocolate eyes, the moon creating a halo over her crescent silhouette, outlining her tear stains.
I'll stay with you through day, night, whenever you need me.
Take me away, from these memories, to the seafront.
"I just want to get away from all these things that..." She shakes. "...that remind me of her." Her voice quivers on the last word.
I'll take you anywhere you want to go.
Take these wounds, and make themheal.
"Why did she have to die? Why? She..." She breaks off, and begins to cry again. Somewhere, a wolf howls, reminding her that there is still some beauty in the world... but not enough.
I'll put you back together.
Get me through this entire ordeal.
"Can you..." She tries to make out the words. Searching. "...just... gosh, I don't know. How am I ever going to get through this?" There's pain in her eyes.
I'll get you through hell if you asked me to.
Remember my name, remember her legacy.
"I know you didn't know her well, but... promise me one thing..." She chokes on tears, bitter sorrow, maybe something else entirely. "You won't forget her."
I'll always remember her.
Stop fighting with me, so maybe we won't leave this bitterly.
"I was mad at her when I left home this morning, and now..." She stares at her feet. "It was all my fault. The argument. I never told her I'm sorry."
I'll stop with the ego if it'll help us get along.
Make me wrong, talk me out of this.
"No, I can't... I..." She holds the gun, and finally sits it on the park bench, the trigger area illuminated by stars above that she wishes she could be. "But I want to be with her."
I'll make heaven and hell get along to keep you alive.
Give me your cheek, I'll pretend it's hers to kiss.
"I remember... she used to always kiss my cheek goodbye..." She gives a bittersweet smile at the memory. "Motherly love, I guess." The smile soon fades, leaving a tear-scarred face behind.
I'll repeat it back to you, so maybe you'll feel more at home.
Hold my hand, my soul, my heart.
"She... the crash, and..." She blows her nose. "I only have her. No father, no..." She tries not to break down where she can be seen, but her hidden inside world crumbles at her feet.
I'll piece everything back together and glue it tight.
Follow me into the dark.
"I'm sorry, I..." She stutters. "I'm not a good friend right now. I don't know how long it will be until I am one. But do you think..." She doesn't even need to finish the question.
I'll go wherever your soul leads, even if it's to the depths of the darkest hole.
