Castiel had a hard day, to say the least. His first periods of the day had been complete and utter hell. He walked in late to his seventh period class, which was thankfully the last one of the day. Mr. Milton, who Cas could usually count on to be in a happy mood, simply glared at Castiel and snapped at him for being tardy, then instructed him to take his seat immediately.

Once Castiel was seated in his usual desk, Mr. Milton began his lecture.

"So today we're learning about similes. Can anyone tell me what a simile is?" Mr. Milton's voice filled the room as his eyes scanned the class. A few eager and hesitant hands rose up, and Cas leaned back in his chair, gazing out the window. The lecture on similes was boring and did nothing to hold his interest or attention. A little while later, he felt a small nudge. He turned to see Jo holding out a small piece of paper, which he took with slight confusion and curiosity. It was a small, nicely folded paper, and on it said 'Castiel' in, admittedly, sloppy handwriting. He looked over at Jo with a questioning glance, and she simply shrugged in reply. Returning his attention to the note, he unfolded the paper and inside there was more of the same sloppy handwriting.

'Want to go on a date sometime? Check yes or no.' Under it there were two boxes, one labeled yes and the other, no. Castiel shook his head and smiled. It was a little childish but it was also incredibly cute. Curious, Castiel began glancing around the room, trying to find any indication of the author of the note. His eyes landed on Dean Winchester, who was staring at him from two rows away. As their eyes locked, Dean winked. Castiel's face immediately flushed red. He picked up his pencil, about to respond, when Mr. Milton cleared his throat.

"And what is this Mr. Novak?" He was staring at the note in Castiel's hand. Castiel, not knowing what to do, he quickly stuffed the note in his mouth, chewed it and swallowed it.

"Um, nothing sir?"

Mr. Milton stared silently at Castiel for a few minutes, face bewildered, and then burst into laughter. Soon, the rest of the class did as well.

"Ah… I have done some crazy things to get away with passing notes in my day, Castiel. But you definitely take the cake. You just made my day." He held out his hand and Castiel gave him a high-five. "Alright… now for the homework." He went back to teaching and Castiel sighed in relief, he turned to look at Dean. Dean was wiping tears from his eyes and shot him a questioning look. Castiel just shrugged and smiled.

After the homework was passed out and the bell rang, Dean walked up to Castiel.

"So that was some pretty awesome note hiding, Cas." He laughed and it made Castiel smile rather brightly from pride.

"Thanks. In all honesty, I didn't know what to do." He shrugged and blushed. Dean just called him Cas.

"So… about the note. What do you say?" Dean smiled nervously. Cas thought for a second before he answered.

"Yes, I'd love to."
