Carry On
"Silent, I go under,
I am not afraid;
I can see the daylight shine,
And slowly drift away;
Safe to say it's over,
Sink into the grave;
There is nothing left inside,
But I am wide awake;
I can hear the devil call my name..."
The roar of rushing air filled Sam's ears as he fell into the pit, his eyes scanned the darkness as he tumbled. "How long have i been falling? Where is Michael? Adam?", Sam thought. Something was different as well, his body felt different. "Lucifer." Sam couldn't feel his presence anymore. Sam sighed, "It's over."
Without warning, a pain shot through his back. He felt a hand struggling to grab him. He turned to see, his eyes focusing slowly. His stomach lurched, the light was too bright and he felt his eyes beginning to burn. In agony he struggled to get away, but, there was nowhere to go.
The figure in front of him wrapped his hands around his neck, Lucifer wasn't going down without a fight. Sam watched in horror, could Lucifer claw his way back out? Had the cage shut? In the corner of his eyes for a split second, Sam saw a shadow speeding towards him.
Michael knocked into Lucifer with great force, Lucifer fell screaming in agony. Michael turned towards Sam, reaching his hand outward. Sam grabbed Michael's hand pulling him closer. "Michael?" Sam asked. Adam grinned, "Michael isn't home right now." Sam looked around him, "Where's Michael?" Adam shrugged, "Gone, he fell in." Sam hugged his brother, "I'm sorry you were dragged into this." Adam shook his head, "This isn't the time, we have to get ou-"
Sam watched as Adam was pulled away from him into the darkness, the cage was closing. Sam knew he was next. Sam looked up, "Goodbye Dean." He felt the heat below his feet, his eyes stung as he fell. In his ears he heard an explosion and he heard a voice, "Not your time."
Sam's whole body ached, he stood up and looked around. Sam looked puzzled, as he stood in the middle of a street in what looked to be the suburbs. Confused, he walked down the street trying to make sense of things, lights burned out above him as he walked. Sam ignored it. Suddenly, he realized just exactly where he was. He knew this street and this wasn't hell, this was earth. Sam looked around the neighborhood, he was back. As quick as the happiness washed over him, it left just as quickly once the realization hit him. "Adam."
Sam felt cold as he began to walk the street. The house he was looking for came into view, the front window was bright. Sam looked in to see Dean at a dinner table with Ben and Lisa, like a family. Sam felt a twinge in his heart. He stepped forward, he struggled against wanting to go to his brother and tell him he was okay. Sam stopped himself, "He can never know i escaped. He deserves this, a family and a home." The street light above him burned out as he turned to leave.
A whoosh of air in front of him and his vision was obscured, Sam felt the ground leave him for a moment. As suddenly as it happened he felt the ground again, his vision restored he scanned the room, he was in a warehouse. He turned around to see a familiar face looking back at him, "Cas?" Castiel grabbed Sam by his jacket, "How are you here?"
