Josh ran under the bed, giggling as he hid from his father. They would play hide-and-seek every night, and Josh would always end up hiding in the same place. Josh was eight years old, and his father was a mutant scientist. Instead of his father running into the room laughing, like he normally did, Josh saw his father's feet stumble into view. Another pair of feet, in high heel boots came into view. There was a click, then a gunshot rang out. Josh gasped when he saw his father hit the floor. Suddenly the bed was ripped from above him, and a large man stood above him. Josh whimpered as the man growled.
"Creed," the woman in high heel boots warned. She turned to Josh. "You have a choice, join us or be killed. You see, your father knew too much, therefore he betrayed us. This is what happens to those who refuse HYDRA!" Josh nodded quickly, and the woman smiled coldly. The man called Creed grabbed him by the arm and pulled him up, shoving him into a slightly older boy. The boy smiled and pulled him to a helicopter, helping him when he stumbled. They sat in the back, out of earshot from the adults.
"Hi, I'm Wade." He grinned.
"M-my name's Josh," he stuttered.
"Nice to meet you, Josh!" The boy looked about eleven, with sandy brown hair that fell in his eyes. His light blue eyes were friendly and warm. "I'm new to the program, like you. I'm sorry 'bout your dad." His eyes turned sad at the last part and he looked away, letting Josh cry in private.
"T-thanks," Josh whispered, trying to get a hold on himself.
"No problem kid," Wade smiled. "Y'know, you're gonna a need a brother when you grow up in the military. I'll have your back, I promise." Josh grinned at him, their friendship just beginning.

Josh was yanked out of bed and hit the cold floor, hissing in pain.
"WADE!" he heard someone sniker, and he flung his pillow at them.
"Rise and shine sleeping beauty!" Wade sang, ripping the blankets off of him.
"Go away!" Josh groaned, rolling over.
"No way man, we got training today!" Wade said happily. Wade was always happy. Wade always talked too. Five years had passed since the death of Josh's father, and Josh was now thirteen. Wade turned him over, his long hair still falling in his eyes, and grinned at him. "Get up!" The sixteen year-old sat on him, and Josh yelled.
"Get-off!" he gasped. He sat up harshly, throwing him off and his leathery wings flinging out. "Never-do that-again!" He was panting, his adamantium skin shinning in the light. He closed his eyes and pulled the wings and adamantium back in, leaving his skin smooth and tan. He smoothed down his black hair and walked past Wade, who grinned and jumped up, walking after him. About halfway down the hall they were met by a young girl, who was about ten.
She had long black hair and dark gray eyes. She nodded curtly to them and continued to walk.
"Not gonna say anthing to your favorite guys, Laura?" She glared at him, but Wade kept going. "Well, I know I'm a guy. Not so sure about Joshy here!" He ruffled his hair and Josh swatted his hand away. They walked into the training dome and Wade finally shut his mouth.
Wade, Laura, and Josh made up a team of super soldiers. Laura was a clone of the famous Weapon X, and had anger management issues. Wade was the oldest of the team, who was constatly talking. Josh was the only one of the team who could change his apperance at will. He could transform into a dragon-like creature, with adamantium skin, complete with fangs and claws.
The lights flashed on and the training simulation began.
