Both Ruby and Sapphire were actually really excited for this next trip to another motel. Greg had some other sale to negotiate again and Steven had begged, not Garnet, but Ruby and Sapphire to come, very politely though, knowing the two of them hated to be apart.

But after what had happened last time, the two of them were looking forward to being split up for at least a little while. Ruby's suave line of "I get to look at you" had made the both of them think about being apart every so often, so this road trip was the perfect time to act upon their desires.

As soon as the van was packed up with their luggage, Garnet excitedly unfused. Steven gleefully cheered and hugged the two.

"Come on, you three," Greg called, "We got to get on the road; it's already late enough."

They all piled into the van and Ruby and Sapphire were more than happy to have the back to themselves, especially after Steven had nodded off and they knew they wouldn't be interrupted.

The two snuggled up together in back seat smiling at each other. Then, Ruby started to giggle under her breath.

"What?" Sapphire asked.

"Oh, it's nothing," she playfully answered while looking away.

Sapphire tried to use her future vision but was bombarded with too many outcomes. It was impossible for her to tell what Ruby was going to do until - Ruby shoved her hands underneath her lover's arms and began to tickle her sides.

Sapphire laughed loudly at the attack, "Stop that! You'll wake, Steven."

"Oh, you think I'll stop for Steven?" Ruby whispered, "I didn't stop last time, did I?"

Sapphire gave a determined smirk, "Well, then I guess I'll have to fight back!"

She, then, threw herself on top of Ruby and squished her down into the seat.

"Oh, no, I lost," Ruby feigned defeat because having such an attractive gem smushed up against you was definitely not losing.

"Yeah, you did," Sapphire cooed as she kissed the other sweetly.

For the remainder of the drive they made out, leaving Greg gripping the steering wheel tight and completely freaking out.
