Cookie Snatcher
"Isn't this nice guys?" Jackie asked the kids as she, Nick, all the kids, and even the dogs sat on a picnic blanket in the park.
"Yeah." The kids responded happily.
They love having picnics in the park and they especially love getting to play on the park equipment afterwards.
"Mama can I have my cookie now please?" Sloan asked.
"Sure buddy." Jackie said as she dug in the basket and pulled out a peanut butter cookie for him.
She had made a couple batches of cookies before they left so she could bring them on the picnic.
Sloan took a couple bites of his cookie and then set it on his napkin so he could take a drink of his apple juice.
Skittles saw the cookie just sitting on the napkin and raced over and snatched it.
"Hey, Skittles, that's mine." Sloan exclaimed.
Skittles gulped down the cookie while Sloan sat there helpless, glaring at her.
Jackie and Nick looked at each other and smiled.
"Here kiddo." Jackie told Sloan as she dug him out another cookie from the basket.
"Thank you mama." He said as he took a bite of the cookie, and this time he didn't set it down for one second, he held onto it until he was finished with it.
After all the kids had finished their lunch and their cookies they went to play while Nick and Jackie sat on the bench keeping a watchful eye on them, Jackie bouncing the babies on her knee and Nick holding onto both of the dog's leashes.
They let the kids play for about an hour before they went packed up and headed home.
Everyone had enjoyed themselves, even with Skittles the cookie thief around!
