This is just a quicky, some thoughts that have been swimming in my head. Enjoy.

A Rude Awakening.
"Hey Stretch, do you want a lift down to the agistment tonight, to say goodbye to Matilda?" asked Jo goodnaturedly.
"No Jo. I don't." Jack snapped back rudely.
Ben PJ, and Tess, put their heads down, feeling quite uncomfortable.
Jo was taken aback by this sudden outburst. "You sure, I thought you'd want to..."
"It's none of your business Jo, just stay out of it."
Jo swung her chair back, to hide the tears in her eyes. But PJ noticed.
He got up, with a determined look on his face. " Jacko, you and me are going for a walk."
"I'm fine, just...."
But PJ had got up, and moved to behind his chair. He pushed it out the door out to the veranda.
"Look- I've had enought of this crap." started PJ, quick to the point.
"If you've taken me out here to lecture me...." defended Jack.
"You- shut up. I talk, you listen."
Jack silently nodded in response.
"We are all sorry this has happened to you mate, we really are. If we could take it away, we would. But we can't. In there is a women who cares about you more then you realise, and all you can do is snap at her. She blames herself for what happened to you. Every since it happened, she thinks it's her fault, for not stopping you. So, she tries to make up for it, by being a mate. Because you two are best mates. Stop treating like shit!"
PJ paused for a breath, and was pleased to see the dumbfounded look on Jack's face.
He continued, "You have to remember, you aren't the first person this has happened to. Not even a year ago Maggie was shot, and was killed. You should count yourself bloody lucky! She didn't survive, you did. And mate, the way you are carrying on, it should have been her that survived. Coz I'd bet she'd be handling this a lot better then you are. At least you aren't dead!" PJ's voice was getting louder, and tears welling in his eyes. But he pressed on.
"At least you're alive mate. Be thankful of that. This may come as a bit of a suprise for you, but we are all your mates. We'd do anything for you, but if you keep treating us the way you are, we aren't going to be around much longer. Don't close us out. Especially Jo. At least you're still here. Think about it."
And with that, PJ turned and headed back into the station.
And Jack sat there, in complete shock.
"Where's Jack, what were you two doing?" asked Tess. They'd all heard the shouts.
"He'll be back soon-he's just had a bit of a rude awakening."
