Prologue

Only when its dark enough, can you see the stars

- Martin Luther King Jr.

The sky turned to navy as the sun has set a while ago, leaving a cool breeze in its wake and the only access of light from the Moon and the stars that covered the navy blanket above. A small cottage stood alone in a clear area with a cliff side on one side and a clearing on the other. beyond that was a forest of such. The cottage looked fairly 'homely' from the outside, it wasn't spectacular or was shabby, it was a simple cottage with yellow glow that could be seen coming from the windows.

A lone figure sat dangerously close to the cliff side as below was a river, it wasn't child friendly. A fall from the height would be fatal, and if that didn't kill them then the rocks below certainly would be the end. The figure had a small build, he wore a black t-shirt and grey short to go with it, Silver eyes watched the stars as the breeze ruffled his black hair. His appearance didn't look overly impressive, him still being a boy. What stuck out was his Silver eyes that glowed in a ethereal way, his expression didn't range much since it seemed to be passive and nothing more.

He heard the patter of feet on the grass coming towards him. He knew who it was and showed no notice to them as they stood beside him.

"ehhh, Nii-chan" a little girl drawled. "Why are ya sittin here again"

He promptly ignored her, sighing as his peace was shattered by his little sister. She plopped down next to him and stared at her big brother. And started. He sighed again and turned his head towards her.

"Yes, Sayu"

Sayu was a small girl as she was only five. Sharing the same black hair as her brother as well as the eyes it was not hard to mistake these two as siblings. Her hair was below her chin, a small snaggle tooth and her face screwed up in a small pout.

"Nii-chan, you can't sit out here forever, c'mon Jiji is making food. And it's finally not rice, I mean rice is good and all but c'mon every day, but its ramen today! c'mon" She started rambling about ramen then. To stop her from talking he flicked her forehead.

"ahhh, Nii-chaan" the girl comically covered her forehead in case of another impending attack.

"Fine, c'mon Sayu, let go so you can eat your ramen" he said with a small smile as he stood up "though it's not like we eat rice everyday". He extended his hand towards her and grasped her small hand and headed back towards they're cottage.
