this one is inspired by the moment hermione walks down the stairs in the GOF movie during the yule ball ;)
note: I know that the dress Hermione wore in the book is different from the one she wore in the movie, but I chose to go with the movie dress. ;)
that moment you came walking down
. . .
and the world stops
take a deep breath
because there's eyes all over you.
the crystals hanging from the ceiling gleam ever so brightly now
(the glare irritates your eyes)
and the music of a far-away melody floats away.
slowly the images lock into place
and you're able to call out each by name.
wordlessly, you stand there
do I really look that…pretty?
all signs are pointing to it, sweetheart
but it's still pretty unbelievable.
your hair
upswept and pinned with perfect diamonds
your hands
nails painted and rings donned
your body
a dress the color of soft rose petals falls at your high-heeled feet,
delicate, so gorgeous you don't want to touch it
making swishing noises as you breathe in and out
your face
luminous in all their eyes
(and your eyes are kinda pretty, too).
this is new.
you don't know about this kind of stuff
like the other girls do
and you're still pretty clueless.

but the turning point
in this whole ordeal
in this unreal fairytale
is when you catch a glimpse of
the blue eyes and fire hair reflecting your beauty
because that moment you came walking down
was a pretty dizzying one
but the crystals are in his eyes, too.
