Short Story One: Sisters
The assault on the broken shore was relentless. Alliance and horde working side by side to combat the coming threat of the legion. The two factions quickly drove the legion back to the tomb of sargeras to confront Gul'dan, but at great cost. Gul'dan laughed at the oncoming combined forces. "Your struggle is pointless. This world shall burn. WE ARE ENDLESS!" Amidst Gul'dans yelling demons flooded through portals. "We will cut them down!" yelled King Varian Wrynn. "Give them no ground, FOR THE ALLIANCE!" The alliance began their assault on the endless waves of demons. The horde on top of the cliffs kept the flying demons at bay and fought many demons coming through portals in the area. Gul'dan laughed as the two sides began to struggle. In the distance a loud horn of retreat was signaled. Wrynn looked to the distance. "No, she wouldn't!" Genn Greymane approached the king. "I knew she couldn't be trusted!" Wrynn looked left, and then right seeing the allied forces falling one by one. "Genn we must retreat. Get everyone out of here!"
As the alliance moved back to their ships to leave Gul'dan pressed the demons assault. Infernals began to rain down from the sky. Wrynn was knocked from his ship due to a massive infernal grabbing his ship. The king valiantly fought off the infernal and multiple demons before being stabbed and falling to his knees in front of Gul'dan. Wrynn however, was not the only member of the alliance to not make it to a ship. Instead of falling back a paladin by the name of Kirahn was fighting off waves of demons holding them back so that others would be able to escape. Fatigue was slowly taking her. The journey through the island was hard on her. Seeing her master Tirion Fordring the one who guided her in the ways of light fall to the legions behemoth Krosus had taken a toll on her emotionally. Still fighting through her emotions she vowed to protect as many as she could even if it cost her own life. One by one she struck demons down. Her fatigue though had finally caught up to her. A demon was able to kick her to the ground. Winded she thought this was the end. Her vision began to blur. The demon raised his sword into the sky and swung downward towards the defenseless Paladin. A clash of steel stopped the sword from hitting the paladin. The demon looked to his side to see a warrior had stopped his attack. The demons eyes grew wide as he recognized her. "Ariahn Ironbane!" With lightning reflexes she cut down the warrior where he stood. Kirahn had blacked out from exhaustion. Ariahn looked down at her sister with arrogance. She picked her body up and put her arm around her shoulders to carry her towards her ship.
Ariahn continued towards her ship. Back off in the distance King Varian was staring Gul'dan in the face. The evil orc warlock tried to break the king before he would slay him. "Your world will burn. You will be remembered as the king who died for nothing!" Gul'dan began laughing. Varian looked up at Gul'dan. "For...The...Alliance!" Gul'dan disgusted with Varian grabbed the king and filled him with fel magic. Varian yelled in discomfort before being overwhelmed and killed by the magic. Ariahn in the distance looked back at the lighting. She knew this fight was just begining. She would seek a weapon of great power and come back to the broken shores and help lead the fight against the demons and the rest of the legion. She set sail towards the kingdom of Gilneas. Ariahn had a disdain feeling towards her sister Kirahn. She couldn't abandon her or see her hurt at the same time. She would take her sister to Gilneas to recieve help and then be off.
