Voyager discovered an Earth-like planet orbiting a sun they named X-547. It had a breathable atmosphere, yet was uninhabited by intelligent life forms. It had a temperate climate, no known aggressive animals, oceans, and several land masses.

It was a true Eden—and that's what the crew named the planet.

Janeway established orbit around it and gave the crew a well-deserved ten days shore leave.

A large group of the crew had beamed down to a beach. One of them was Seven of Nine. She lied down on a beach towel.

Neelix walked over to her. He carried a basket of purple berries.

"Hi, Seven."

She looked up. "Hello."

"Try these berries. They're quite good—and quite safe, I assure you."

"All right." She took a couple and popped them into her mouth. "They have a peasant taste."

He looked at her for a bit.

"Is there something wrong?," she finally asked.

"No. It's just that you look as though you're not really relaxing."

"I am relaxing."

"You look a little. . . tense. I've got an idea; Take your shoes and socks off."

"Take my shoes and socks off?"

"Yes—please?"

"All right." She took them off. "Now what?"

"Lie back down." She did this. "Now that you are barefooted, how do you feel?"

"It feels. . . pleasant. My feet feel cooler."

He knelt down at her feet and began rubbing them.

"What are you doing?"

"Massaging your feet. Do you like it?"

"That feels pleasant. Please continue."

He continued. "Kes used to love foot massages." He grew sad.

"That was Nurse Kes, right?"

"Yes."

"You miss her a lot, do you not?"

"Yeah."

"You should not dwell so much on the past, Neelix. Think of the present. There will eventually be another love in your life."

"I guess you're right." He looked towards the ocean. "Seven, let's go swimming!"

"We did not bring our bathing suits."

"Doesn't matter. Most of the crew have their uniforms on, see?"

He pointed towards the surf. Many of the crew were playing in the water, most with their uniforms on (but barefooted).

"I will perhaps go in later on. But right now, I want to relax for a while."

"OK." He got up.

"Thank you for the massage—and the berries."

"You're welcome, Seven."

He went around offering berries to the other crew members. Then he took his shoes and socks off and waded in the surf.

A few minutes later, Seven joined him.

"Seven! Glad you decided to do this."

"I thought I would try it."

They waded out further into the water. Suddenly, a large wave came up, soaking them!

He looked at her and smiled; she smiled back at him.

Janeway was there, wading in the surf. She watched the two of them and also smiled.
